Robby Gordon VICTORIOUS at 29th DAKAR Rally's Longest Stage

Orange, California (January 11, 2007) Massive sand dunes, deep holes, wide-open unfamiliar stretches of African desert and an intense rivalery among the international contingent of off road racers were no match for the man they call "Flash Gordon."

NASCAR team owner-driver, SCORE Baja 1000 multi-time winner and all-around "Off Road Bad Boy" put an exclamation point on the arrival of a non-factory race teams in the wilds of Africa with a HUGE VICTORY in Stage 6.

Robby Gordon family and friends are celebrating throughout Southern California today as the European media has regarded him as "The American Hero," among press corps.

Thousands of American fans have chased this race via websites as Gordon displayed the character that he is well know for - "Doing it his way."

Today the Robby Gordon way proved to be the right way as the NASCAR / SCORE Baja 1000 accomplished racer outperformed the world's top teams in a battle on the African plains. Gordon's experienced in the any desert or sand dunes is formible as they off road racer simply grew up in the dirt.

Raised in the hills in the eastern portion of Orange, California, Gordon was introduced to the world of off road early in his life as his now legendary father, Baja Bob Gordon, was intrumental in developing the off road racing scene as it is today. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology developed each season, Bob Gordon, is well-known as a fierce competitor.

Today's victory in the African Desert is especially gratifying for the racer with the nickname of "Flash Gordon."

Amid difficulties that plagued him in the early stages, Gordon and his MONSTER/HUMMER/Toyo Tires team has bounced back and scored one of the greatest wins in Dakar history.

Today's stage was the longest ever stage seen in the history of Dakar Rally racing. Gordon started in the middle of the pack and drove his race car like he is known for in the deserts of North America, wide open.
