FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. - - 2005 SCORE Trophy Truck Champion Bob Shepard is the latest driver to join the Arciero-Miller Racing stable. Shepard joins Ryan Arciero and Mark Miller on the fast-growing Trophy Truck Team. Nitto Tire returns in 2007 as the team’s primary sponsor.
“I am very happy to be partnering with Ryan, Mark and the entire Arciero-Miller organization,” Shepard said. “What they have done in building a successful and marketable company is incredible. Ryan and I are going to work hard to put our Nitto Tire Chevrolet Trophy Truck at the top.”
Shepard and Arciero will pilot the No. 82 Nitto Tire Chevrolet for the entire 2007 SCORE International Desert Series beginning with the SCORE Laughlin Dessert Challenge later this week. When the two arrive in Ensenada for the June 1-3 Tecate SCORE Baja 500, they will have a wealth of event knowledge on their side. Shepard has won the legendary race two times making a total of four Baja 500 wins for Arciero-Miller Racing. Shepard won the Baja 1000 in 2005 while Arciero-Miller Racing won the grueling event in 2003 and ’04 making three straight for the team.
“Bob Shepard is a huge addition to Arciero-Miller Racing,” Arciero said. “We plan to take full advantage of the talent, knowledge and experience that Bob brings to our race team. We’ve been saying we’ll do whatever it takes to make Arciero-Miller the best SCORE Trophy Truck team in the business, and Bob will help us make that goal a reality.”
After winning the SCORE Trophy Truck championship in 2005, his first season in a Trophy Truck, Shepard received the 2005 Toyota Milestone Award for completing every mile in that season’s SCORE Desert Series. He followed his inaugural season with another stellar performance finishing second in the 2006 season point standings.
2007 plans for Arciero-Miller Racing co-owner and CEO Mark Miller are in the final preparation stages and will be announced as soon as possible.
