Ass Kickin' the Assassins way - Lake Elsinore Casino ups the ante with three entries - Kash / OC Pools / Playtech to join DA Fray

The Buggy Bash Brothers of the Desert Assassins join Unbound Energy Trophy Truck #16 and the extended DA family for the 2007 SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge (LDC) this January 19 – 21 in Laughlin, Nevada.

Desert Assassin Shop, Dirt City, California (January 17, 2007) Clyde Stout and Cameron Steele embark on their 5th season as partners and continue to work with the best in the sport as ‘07 kicks off. Both are former Baja 1000 class champions and are tackling The LDC in the premiere class in Off Road racing, SCORE Trophy Truck. In 2006 they teamed for a 4th on Sunday and 6th overall for the two day Laughlin event.

This year Brian Burgess, 2006 1600 buggy Champion and Darren Hardesty, the class 10 season Champion are joined by the colorful team of Cameron Steele and Kash Vessels rounding out the Buggy Bash Brothers. Hardesty, Vessels and Steele are all 2nd generation winners whose fathers also took home top SCORE honors in their day. The three will work together in SCORE Lite, which Cameron won in 2006 and class 10, which Darren conquered in ’06 as well. The team will field three Desert Assassins entries in class 10 and round it out with an entry in Class 1 for unlimited buggies. Bash Brother Brain 'Cheater' Burgess also joins the clash in the multiple class DA attack fielding entries in classes 12 and 10 after a championship season in ‘06.

Yokohama Tires fits the shoes for all the rides coming out of the DA mayhem center and will debut their new 37 inch Geolander MT tire on the #16 Unbound Energy Trophy Truck when the green flag waves for the premier class in Laughlin.

In Class 1 Orange County Pools and Lake Elsinore Casino will title Mike Bruning’s Playtech built car that Cameron will Join Forces with Darren in. Darren terrorized the overall results in 2006 while driving his class 10 limited buggy, while doing so he has able to better the times of 95% of the unlimited class 1 finishers at most races. Although the first effort in class one for Darren and Cameron joining them on the entry will be Kash Vessels, Kash campaigned this class in 2006 and was regarded as the fastest man in the desert. Kash's legendary father Frank has won the Baja 1000 and 500 dating back to the 70’s and Kash has been winning since he has been driving.

The SCORE Lite class will see returning winner Cameron Steele back to defend his title in the Lake Elsinore Casino car affectionately know as "Pinkie". Joining Cameron in the class will be Bash Brother 'Cheater' Burgess who has a newly built car that may just scare people out of the class. The trash talk is severe in the DA camp and the boys have a $5,000.00 side bet on the line at this event. Brian and Cameron can be seen on the channel 2 morning show throughout Laughlin and the Tri State area at 8am Thursday tearing each other apart.

The largest DA presence will be felt in class 10 where Brian and Cameron will join Bash Brother Darren Hardesty who not only won this event last year but the class championship as well in the Off Road Warehouse racing machine. Brian and Cameron will be running their SCORE LITE cars in class 10 and they will also involve Kash in the mix. Darren's Dad won the 1980 Overall SCORE title and Cameron’s Dad is a 2 time Baja 1000 class winner. The multigenerational attack is poised to break some hearts in the semi limited buggy class.

Prepping 'Pinkie' for double duty is long time desert guru Jimmy Hook of Hooked Up Motorsports. "This will be a huge challenge to run one car in two classes in back to back races and I trust Jimmy to give us a winner in both" said Cameron. Jimmy is known as the prepper to the stars of Off Road Racing as he is also working with Robby Gordon Motorsports and has prepped for Kash and many others previously. Calling the race on the headset will be long time DA member and former Pinkie driver Cody Stuart. “Cameron is kind of nuts, he wears a moto helmet and takes all the electronics out of the car so he straps a small radio to his seat and I try and tell him to cruise when he gets in the lead” said Stuart.

Back for their first full year in 7sx is the team of Heidi Steele and Chris Vano in the Unbound Energy Truck. Heidi has had been in a whirlwind since becoming a full time SCORE driver. In 2005 she won the Baja 500 and 1000 as well as the championship in her class. For ’06 she moved into the mini truck class and while cutting her teeth in the pick up for the first time she was featured on the cover of Dirt Sports Magazine and a major part of the same magazines women in motorsports story. She and Chris, motorsports manager for Board Ford who was voted SCORE entry sponsor of the year, while tackling their first short track this weekend in Laughlin.

Also pitting with the Desert Assassins is past CORR Super Buggy champion Aaron Hawley who is considered one of the favorites in the 1600 buggy class. He was part of the team for the Baja 500 in the Pink Masher and will be the first 1600 car off the line. Fellow 1600 racers Trevor Streech and Billy Skinner will be newbies coming out of the DA pit. Although not members of the team officially they have become two drivers that Burgess, Hardesty, Stout and Steele have helped to show the ropes to.

The team invites friends and fans to the Unbound Energy and Yokohama Tire semis to say hello to entire Desert Assassins squad while in Laughlin.
