Garron Cadiente to Defend SCORE Baja 250 WIN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Mesa, Arizona (March 1, 2007) Garron Cadiente heads to Mexico to defend his stellar win at the 2006 SCORE San Felipe 250 desert race.  Cadiente’s No. 38 Geiser-built trophy truck will feature an updated version of paint design utilizing SIKKENS Paint, a recently-signed associate sponsor to the G&R Racing program.  With the addition of TrailReady Beadlock, SIKKENS Paint, K&N Air Filters, Orlando Auto Body and increased support from UPR, team manager, Brian Godfrey, has recently updated the graphic design of both the No. 38 and No. 39 G&R Racing race trucks.

Both race trucks are slated for duty at the SCORE Baja 250, to be held on the shores of the Pacific Ocean in Ensenada, Baja California.   Over 375 entries from 15 U.S States, Mexico, Canada, England, Italy and New Zealand will line up on Avenida Ruiz and charge into the desert of Mexico for the 21st Annual SCORE Baja 250.

Cadiente, the defending champion in this race, explained his calculated strategy for the race, “The change of venues from San Felipe to Ensenada is going to make for a slightly different race.  Although the distance is similar, the terrain is vastly different.  We are focused on performance at each of the Baja series races this year and this will be a great precursor to the SCORE Baja 500 and the Baja 1000.  I’m confident heading to next weekend’s race.  At only 216 miles, this is going to be a straight out sprint to the finish.  Last year, we won this sprint, so we’ll see what happens.”

Racing in Mexico is a favorite for G&R Racing, especially after Ron Whitton claimed an impressive third place finish at the prestigious SCORE Baja 1000 last November.

“Racing in the SCORE Baja 1000 and finishing in third position topped off a great rookie year in the desert and I really look forward to the SCORE Baja races.  The No. 39 Geiser-built trophy truck is ready to go,” commented Whitton.

SCORE officials have announced a race-record 36 entries so far in the class for 800 horsepower, unlimited production trucks.  Cadiente and Whitton will race against a strong field in SCORE Trophy Truck class that features many of the world’s top desert racers.  The SCORE Baja 250 is an off road racing extravaganza that historically draws off road racing fans from throughout the United States and Mexico.  An estimated 200,000 spectators are expected to line the 216.23-mile race course on Saturday, March 10, 2007.

G&R Racing will display their race trucks and race hauler at Hotel Marina in Ensenada in the days leading up to the race.  Fans are encouraged to visit G&R Racing headquarters for the latest G&R Race poster.

G&R Racing is sponsored by Whitton Companies, Geiser Brothers, BFGoodrich Tires, TrailReady Beadlocks, K&N Air Filters, Vision X, ION Earth, F&L Racing Fuel, KING Shocks, SignPros, DirtSkins, Patton Racing Engines, SIKKENS Paint, Orlando Auto Body and UPR.
