March 10 SCORE Baja 250 Desert Race in Mexico

Mikey Childress / Andy Grider Team Up For Wild Run at Baja 250

Hesperia, California (March 2, 2007) SCORE Baja 1000 Champion, Mike Childress, smiled wide recently when he let the cat out of the bag announcing that he and multi-time Baja champion, Andy Grider, were teaming up for the 2007 SCORE Baja races.

"Andy is stoked and I'm stoked about us heading to Baja together as a team facing the competition. We're not going to Baja for second place," said a confident Mike Childress.

Andy Grider, Dakar motorcycle veteran and more recently, navigator for NASCAR/Off Road Racing veteran, Robby Gordon's 2007 Dakar Rally race, is poised to join one of desert racings fiercest competitors in a quest to unseat the factory backed motorcycle teams that have long dominated the desert.

Both Childress and Grider were previously an intergal part of several championship winning teams at different spans in their respective careers, however, now they will take on the factory backed big dogs as a privateer team.

Childress and Grider have put together an incredible support crew as Mikey Childress announced today that Pflueger Racing will provide pit support around the recently changed SCORE Baja 250.

Mike explained, "Alan and his crew are providing us with pit support throughout the entire race course and we couldn't ask for better service. Pflueger Racing is synonomous with professionalism and winning efforts in the desert. We couldn't do it without their support. Thanks goes out to the entire crew."

Only five days ago, SCORE International announced that this year's SCORE San Felipe 250 was changing venues and the race was renamed the SCORE Baja 250. SCORE officials announced the race would start in Ensenada and finish in the small town of Santo Tomas instead of running a loop race in San Felipe.

Childress commented, "Basically the change in the race course is better for us. We are both very experienced in the terrain and we've both ridden this course so many times that we're expecting to have a fast run barring any outside issues. Besides Pflueger Racing who is our official pit support team we have added support at strategic locations from Cameron Steele's Desert Assassins race team. We have some serious support this year and we intend to be victorious."

Grider and Childress poise a sincere competitive threat against the factory teams that have long dominated the off road racing scene. American Honda supports a host of other privateer teams with the incredible pit support system arranged at each 50-mile mark for the duration of the race. However, with the formation of Childress/Grider Racing anything is possible.

The desert's latest dynamic duo of Childress-Grider Racing will add yet another Baja racing champion to the mix later this year for the SCORE Baja 500.

Many supporters are providing assistance to this newly formed team, although Childress noted they are seeking additional support for the entire 2007 season. Contact Mike Childress at Al Bakers XR Only at 760-244-2626 or check out www.mikeychildress.com
