The SCORE Start Draw will be held during the two-day RACEfest Friday and Saturday at the Lake Elsinore Hotel and Casino in Lake Elsinore, Calif.
In addition to the ‘live’ drawing for the granddaddy of all desert races, other activities scheduled for the two-day RACEfest include a Freestyle Motocross Demonstration, a SCORE Pit Crew Challenge, a Texas Hold ‘em Poker Tournament, Pool Party, the SCORE Lite Challenge, a Silent Auction and live music. Proceeds from the two-day RACEfest will go to the Chris Ackerman Foundation.

In addition to appearances by several of SCORE’s top drivers and riders and their incredible desert-racing machines, the festivities will start on Friday night with the No Fear energy drink Freestyle MX show, silent auction, and live music by the 80’s cover band ‘Flock of 80’s. Scheduled for appearances at the Freestyle show are X Games stars Nate Adams and Brian Deegan along with Deegan’s entire Metal Mulisha team. The RACEfest Vendor’s Village and silent auction open at 4 p.m. followed by the No Fear energy drink Freestyle MX show at 5:30 p.m., a rider autograph session at 7 p.m., the $5,000 charity poker tournament at 7:30 p.m. and the ‘A Flock of 80’s’ performance at 8:30 p.m.

The entire event is being produced by the colorful Desert Assassins race team, led by co-owners Cameron Steele and Ed ‘Clyde’ Stout along with Travis Clarke, who is part of the two-time SCORE Lite point championship team of Tom Watson and Tim Noe. Primary associate sponsors are the Lake Elsinore Casino, Blue C Communications and SCORE International, the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization.

“This is going to be a really fun event and we are looking forward to being part of it all,” said Sal Fish, CEO and President of SCORE, which is celebrating its 33rd year as the world’s foremost desert racing organization. “It will be a super way to start the festivities of the world’s oldest and most prestigious desert race.”

The drawing for the 27 Pro and 5 Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Over 300 vehicles are expected to leave the starting line in Ensenada on Nov. 16.
