PRIMM, NEVADA (April 23, 2008) – Curt LeDuc of Cherry Valley, California, scored his second consecutive Class 8000 Best In The Desert series win during the Terrible’s “250” at Primm piloting his Rockstar / Makita / Kal Gard Lubricants Ford truck on Toyo® Open Country M/T® tires this past weekend in Primm, Nevada. With co-driver, Macrae Glass of Kingman, Arizona, LeDuc started in 84th place and finished the three lap race 12th overall and was the fifth truck across the line with a time of 4:54:27.
During the race, the team changed only the rear tires at the second lap pit stop, experiencing no tire failures throughout the event. The remarkable performance of Toyo’s Open Country M/T has contributed to LeDuc’s domination, as he defends his 2007 Best In The Desert Class 8000 championship on Toyo tires.
“These Toyo Tires are hard core,” stated an elated Curt LeDuc. “We had a five minute lead by the end of the first lap, a 12-minute lead at the end of the second, then broke something in the engine like a connecting rod on the third and were running against 50-mph head winds. We still won our class with a 19-minute lead over the second place finisher thanks to Toyo.”
“We congratulate Curt LeDuc on his truly remarkable win streak since teaming with Toyo Tires at the beginning of last year in desert racing,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “The combination of Curt LeDuc and Toyo Tires has proven to be unstoppable in this form of racing.”
