Primm, Nevada - April 20, 2008, The 250-mile desert race that has is normally raced in Pahrump, Nevada was changed to the new mecca of off road racing in Primm, Nevada. Hosted by the Terrible Herbst Casino on the stateline of California and Nevada, a huge contingent of off road racers gathered to test their skills against the barren desert and the stout competiton within the off road motorsports community.

In dominating fashion this difficutl race was won by Steve Croll racing his Ford Class 1 sponsored by his family company, Grove Lumber. In fact, finishing second at the top of the pack was his brother, Shawn Croll, a 21-year old hotshot driver who rresides in Corona, California.

The Croll brothers were joined in their race cars by Ray Croll, their father as they finished one-two at what has been considered one of the most difficult courses in the desert, Primm, Nevada. However, one rated as the most harsh terrain in the desert, BITD CEO - Casey Folks, had portions of the race course bladed days before the race resulting in a fast twisty course that challenged the best of the best. Nonetheless, the difficult terrain, hiddlen rocks and the barren desert took its toll on the top racers.

The unlimited truck class, Trick Trucks, was won by Will Staats of Valencia, California who drove the Mastercraft, Mirage Racing sponsored Ford truck to victory. Staats outperformed some of the nation's top drivers who sat helplessly sidelined due to mechanical failure, some very near to the finish line.

Staats beat out Rick Johnson driving the newly sponsored General Tires, Castrol Trick Truck by only five minutes. Staats finished in 4:31:32 taking the top honors in the truck class.

Rockstar / Makita sponsored racer Curt LeDuc led the Class 8 trucks through the desert and once again the field had no challengers as LeDuc and his drivers, Kyle and Todd, continue to set the bar very high in BITD Class 8000.

Curt LeDuc, a veteran off road desert racer specializing in both short course and desert racing continues to record victories as he reaches his mid-50's.

Perhaps the most impressive team victory in the desert was posted by Team Hummer led by Rod Hall.

Each of Team Hummer's race vehicles captured victory in their respective classes. Josh Hall won the race in his Hummer H2, while brother Chad Hall drove a H3 Hummer and Rod Hall split time with Emily Miller to claim the title in the stock H3 Hummer. Team Hummer reported this was the first time in the 30 years of Rod Hall's victories that each of the race vehicles they entered won the race.
