Ensenada, B.C. - May 9, 2008 — Two wins in a row for Héctor Salazar in the Off-road race Alamo 200, has made him the new overall car king, while in motorcycles the achievement went to 16 year old Iván Ramírez Junior.

The first date of the 2008 Récord championship, had the spotlight in Salazar going in front from the very first lap until he saw the checkered flag, with an official time of 4 hours, 14 minutes and 58 seconds.

In the motorcycles Ramírez Junior showed once again that he is a great promise from Mexico and Ensenada, beating Tijuana’s Noé Ibarra and Carlos Casas, in a first rate duel.

Ramírez Junior’s official time was 3 hours, 35 minutes and 13 seconds, after racing the Mexican track only in four occasions.

A total of 133 racers from the United States and Mexico took their chances on the 50 mile track located at the Héroes de la Independencia ejido, in what was the first of five dates of the annual championship.

Only 68 pilots finished the race, among them class 8 masters in this event Raúl García and Gonzalo Valdez, who have four victories in a row.

Récord president, Ramón Castro, said that the pilots who could finish the Alamo 200 race should consider themselves fortunate, “because this is a very complicated track that requires total concentration”.

César Gutiérrez came out of retirement and with his son César was the best Class 11 driver in a group of 19 racers, winning the race in 5 hours, 29 minutes and 40 seconds.
Luis Guevara and Federico Montes joined forces to conquer the 200 miles in their Class 9 vehicle, taking turns at driving every two laps.

The next Récord championship series race will be the Ensenada-San Felipe 250 to be held June 20-22, starting at Ojos Negros and finishing at the San Felipe dunes.
