GILBERT, Arizona (April 20, 2009) Team Campbell Racing makes a last minute decision to head to the Best in the Desert Terrible’s 250 in Primm, NV. Within a half hour the buggy was loaded and on the road. Making it just in time for Tech inspection – Lance Clifford, Mike Schaeffer, JT Taylor ,RJ Brown and the crew of Torchmate were there waiting to help out and make any adjustments necessary. The morning race was scheduled to start at 6:00am. At 6:19 am Team Monster Energy smoked the tires and shot off the start line with a mission. A few miles out Shannon had a circuit breaker issue but was able to keep the car going. On the first lap Shannon stopped at Pit #2 for fuel and was on his way. Other than having to stop for fuel Shannon had a flawless race.
Crossing the finish line 2nd in the Sportsman class and 2nd overall in the 2-lap class was huge for Shannon Campbell and Campbell Racing. This was the first Desert race for Shannon and it gave him a chance to see what the purpose built KOH buggy was capable of. Shannon is working with sponsors to make some changes on the buggy for the 1000 mile Vegas to Reno race in August. Next on the schedule is the WE Rock (east) Rock crawling event in Dayton, TN April 24-26.
Thanks again to everyone who helped out-Lance Clifford, Mike Schaeffer, JT Taylor, RJ Brown, Torchmate, Lil Rich, Jesse Haines, Josh England, Frank and Nicole Johnson and Victor Angon.
