FABTECH's Tracy Jordan
dominates the field here in the wind blown hills of Cedar
City taking victory over the nation's top rockcrawlers.
Jordan can bypass the last obstacle and still win as his
lead of 62 points allows him to smile as he tastes victory.
Jordan commented, "The
FABTECH rock buggy got it done big this weekend and we
put it together and rolled out our program big in typical
FABTECH fashion. My spotter / brother Jason really worked
hard throughout the weekend and made it happen."

p.m. Update
-
Just in from Ranch Pratt
a breaking news announcement is that the finals for the
Super Modified will not occur here in Cedar City. And
the Modified Stock class will run one more obstacle that
will be name a Cedar City Champion.
We don't know what has
precipitated this decision, however rumors are the competitors
are wind blown and ready to get out of the inclement weather.
Even though the Super Modified drivers all agreed to end
the event after the semi-finals, the Modified Stock drivers
did not agree to that arrangement, therefore they will
run one more obstacle before naming a winner.

UROC Super Modified
Semi Final Commentary
4:00
p.m. Update
-
The semi-finals are about
ready to kick off here at Three Peaks Rec Area. The top
twelve from each class move forward into the semi-finals.
That means the entire field of Modified Stock teams all
move forward and the Super Modified class led by Tracy
"SteeleHorse Cowboy" Jordan will be hitting
the rocks soon.
The big question buzzing
around the pits and the rocks is, "Can anyone catch
Jordan?" Of course, Jordan has a 58 point lead heading
into the semi-finals, which in this day and age seems
nearly impossible to overtake.
Although, nothing is impossible.
Stay tuned for the full story.

Little Shows It Off
The ever so gorgeous rockcrawler,Jen
Little, wasted no time in giving the crowd a great show
as she showed off some of her hottest moves on the rocks
of Cedar City. Jennifer Little, a member of the On Track
Krawler Team danced on the rocks like perhaps we've never
seen her before in the beautiful built rock rig that her
husband Todd Little has engineered and fabricated. Only
in professional rockcrawling could you witness such an
event on the rocks! Got Moves?
2:15
p.m. Update
FABTECH's Tracy Jordan
continues to dominate while the competition slowly slides
to the wayside here in windy Cedar City. Crawling in his
single seat moon buggy and powered by a FAT Performance
VW air-cooled racing engine, Jordan leads the competition
on the rocks of Three Peaks. Jordan told DirtNewz, "We're
just using common sense and a very conservative strategy."
1:40

In between the competition
on the rocks teams are scrambling to compare scores between
each other as everyone is trying to determine who's in
and who's going home before the semi-finals kick off here

Marty Hart, Brian Errea only to name a few.
CARNAGE ON THE ROCKS OF
CEDAR!
Speaking of Carnage - Where's
the Carnage Crew? The answers are here at DirtNewz. In
the off season one of the nation's top spotter, Jason
Hensel and his new wife, had their first child. That has
put a damper on their competition schedule, but rumor
has it they'll be flying high in the Carnage Crew-built
single seat rock rig at the XRRA event next weekend in
Colorado Springs, Colorado. Stay tuned for the latest
from Carnage Crew and their rock racing efforts right
here at DirtNewz. In the meantime, take a minute and visit
Jason's website at www.rccrawler.com
for the latest in remote-control rockcrawlers.
Bart Jacobs is reportedly
broken on the course after a front knuckle failed to survive
the Carnage at Cedar City.
1:00
p.m. Update
Rock Runner's Brian Errea
is limping around Obstacle # 4on a right front flat limiting
his turning ability. The crew is scrambling for a spare
as Brian and Joachim fight through Obstacle # 4 ultimately
timing out and taking maximum penalty points. This continues
to be a very challenging competition for Errea who has
suffered some serious setbacks.
Ken Blume rolls big on
Obstacle # 2 once again sidelining the East Coast wheeling
guru from claiming a top spot here at the UROC Pro-National
Series.
12:30
p.m. Update
The Maverick - Don Robbins
has just broke his steering arm and is on the strap being
towed from Obstacle # 3 by UROC CEO Ranch Pratt who is
helping out on the rocks today.
This is a big blow to The
Maverick whose fans are following along from all parts
of the nation. Of course, The Maverick was recently married
to his spotter, the gorgeous Lisa Robbins, and they are
tackling the UROC Pro-Nationals this season as driver/spotter
and married couple. The Maverick was slated to race in
the Idaho WORCS race this weekend, however his passion
for competing against the nation's top drivers got to
him and he's here in Cedar City.
Supercrawl Champion
- Tracy Jordan
Noon
Update
Professional rockcrawling's
only parapalegic competitor - Clay Egan, rolled in his
Toyo Tires sponsored rock rig on Obstacle # 5 after slicing
his way through the natural rocks here at noon in Cedar
City, Utah.
The Modified Stock class
was decimated yesterday in the first few obstacles of
the elimination round. Yesterday's leader - Steve Bulloch
ended the day with +79 points for the day after many competitors
in the Modified Stock class failed to even complete one
obstacle.
Today, UROC Officials announced
that Modified Stock teams will receive 9 minutes to complete
their obstacles and the Super Modified to receive 7 minutes,
all changed from yesterday where all teams received a
mere 6 minutes or 360 seconds to complete the obstacle.
Some teams commented, "Rules? What rules?"
11:49
a.m. Update
Baja 1000 Winner - Marty
Hart, one of the most fierce off road motorsports competitors
in the world, rolled hard here in Cedar City and was able
to get his moon buggy back up on all wheels to continue
his run at Obstacle # 3. However, towards the end of his
run he suffered a mechanical problem and he's on the strap
from Obstacle # 3 back to the pits. More to follow...

a.m. Update
Campbell Enterprises -
Shannon Campbell, the 2005 UROC Pro-National Champion
started on Obstacle # 3 this morning and suffered a leaking
tire early in the charge through the obstacle. Campbell
and Big Mike Dieu stopped to air up the tire and Campbell
got back at it. However, he then rolled hard and that
was it for the reigning champion here early this morning.
So Campbell has a tough start here at Cedar City under
big winds and sunny but cooler temperatures than yesterday.
11:30
a.m. Update
Rock Runner Racing's Brian
Errea survived yesterday's opening elimination after suffering
a huge rollover that resulted in big carnage. Errea and
the Rock Runner Racing team spent most of the early evening
at Dean Bulloch's shop in Cedar City repairing two broken
front links along with a few other issues. Errea was up
on Obstacle #5 here early and timed out as he charged
towards the end gate but was hung up by the natural big
rocks of Cedar City.
11:15
a.m. Update
Bruce Zeller was first
up on Obstacle #2 after ending yesterday's competition
in the top five, although the jovial BZ just timed out
on Obstacle #2 which will put him into an early slide
first thing this morning. BZ captured the win only two
weeks ago at Firebird International Raceway and ran solid
yesterday but has suffered some big penalty points here
this morning.
Jeff Mello suffered carnage
yesterday afternoon on his red modified stock rock rig
and after working nearly all night long he arrived here
to the event site and had an issue almost immediately
in testing and has waived the white flag. Mello, of course,
a 20 year off road racing motorsports veteran told us,
"It's very hard for me to walk away from a competition,
but today common sense has taken over and we're heading
out of here heading home on our 12-hour drive." So
Mello is out of UROC's Pro-National Round 2 and headed
back to Northern California.
Competitors are competing
in the final elimination rounds, which will set the field
for the semi-final and final main event later this afternoon.
11:00
a.m. Update
High winds kicked up late
last night raking the entire valley of communities surrounding
Cedar City, Utah and it has not stopped since. Early this
morning teams were awaken by the distinct sound of 50
mph + winds that have emerged on the scene here at Three
Peaks Recreation Center.
The event site at Three
Peaks is located on the side of the east sloping range
and continues to be victimized by Mother Nature. The harsh
wind combined with the flying dust and stinging sand has
put yet another ingredient into today's mix as team battle
for the UROC Pro-National Championship.
Many teams scrambled to
locate goggles in order to combat the stinging sand and
the vendors and sponsors here at Cedar City have resigned
the fact that today they will have to deal with the blowing
dust and sand.
So the competition is about
underway and DirtNewz will bring you the action throughout
the day.
