The Lucas Oil #17 Pro-4
driven by Carl Renezeder bested the nation's top drivers
as he raced hard from the middle of the pack to capture
victory. Renezeder smiled from the podium after finishing
second in today's Pro-2 race and now taking the win
here in San Diego at the season opener.
Renezeder was chased
closely by Troy Herbst and Josh Baldwin who finished
second and third, respectively, in yet another close
race.
Johnny Greaves suffered
a left rear flat tire at the mid-way yellow flag session
that sidelined him from any chance at a podium finish.
Greaves took the chance to race towards the finish,
but around the 13th lap he was forced to pit in order
to make a final run for the checkers and in Greaves
style he crossed the checkered flag for the all important
run at the points championship.

Wild action prevailed
as the #19 Herbst Pro-2 flipped wildly in the high banked
final turn before the start/finish line spraying fiberglass
throughout the turn and all over the track before coming
to a rest against the fence and concrete k-rail.
Skyjacker's Todd LeDuc
once again proves that his commanding win on Saturday
was the real deal as he wasted no time in battling for
postion and charging to the front. LeDuc was chasing
down Evans throughout the entire race before finishing
in third place.

Renezeder drove the brand
new Nissan Titan Pro-2 to a solid second place finish
even though it was apparent by many that he failed to
yield to the yellow flag during the wild crash of the
#19 Herbst Pro-2. Renezeder made up a lot of area in
a very short time after struggling through the first
half of the race.
