COYNE MOTORSORTS AND PRO COMP SUSPENSION STAND ON THE PODIUM AT CRANDON INTERNATIONAL OFF-ROAD RACEWAY.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Coyne Motorsports descended upon the quiet farming town of Crandon, Wisconsin for Rounds 3 and 4 of the Championship Off Road Racing Series (C.O.R.R.) held June 24th – 25th 2006. This was the opening round of C.O.R.R. racing at this world famous venue. Crandon is known as the “World Capitol For Off Road Racing” and its expansive track is situated between rolling green hills, thick forest and features natural terrain as well as huge man made jumps.

This event would mark Coyne Motorsports first time to the famed track. “We were really excited to race here,” said Marty. “This track is considered by many as the premier facility on the C.O.R.R. circuit”.

C.O.R.R Round 3: Saturday

PRO COMP SUSPENSION Pro-2
With having no pre-race test time and only 3 laps of scheduled practice, Travis’ goal was to go out and learn the fast lines. “With our extremely limited practice, I was still learning how to get around the track,” said Travis. “We are out here going up against the world’s best off road racers that have hundreds of previous laps on this track”. As the green flag waved, The Pro Comp
Pro-2 blasted off the line and mixed it up the series veterans and Travis was learning the fast lines. When the checkered flag was waved, the Pro Comp Pro-2 crossed the line in 7th place.

Pro Comp Suspension Pro-4
Marty and the Pro Comp Pro-4 blasted off the line into the famous Crandon 100 mph first turn and was poised to battle with the series best. “As was Travis, I was just going out there learning the lines on this track”. “Having limited practice time is definitely as disadvantage for us” said Marty. Just as Marty was moving up through the field he was sidelined with a broken front spindle bolt that resulted in the Pro Comp Pro-4 receiving a 9th place finish.

C.O.R.R. Round 4: Sunday

Pro Comp Suspension Pro-2
After a top 10 finish, and the chance to get some additional seat time at the track, Travis came into Round 4 with confidence. “This track is awesome, I learned a lot during Saturdays race and I am ready to step it up”. When the green flag dropped, it was apparent that Travis found his confidence at this track as he got the hole-shot in the Pro Comp Pro-2 and was the first truck into the infamous first turn. “These BFGoodrich Tires are second to none, they had us hooked up all weekend long” Travis lead the first lap and a half before being overtaken by 6-Time C.O.R.R. champion Scott Taylor. The next 10 laps were some of the best racing the fans saw all weekend as Pro Comp’s Travis Coyne and Monster Energy’s Jerry Whelchel were nose to tail battling it out all the way to the finish line. When the checkers flew Travis brought the Pro Comp Pro-2 across in second place. “WOW, standing here on the podium with two of the series best drivers our very first weekend here at Crandon is amazing,” said Travis. “First and foremost I have to thank my dad Marty for allowing me this amazing opportunity to live my dreams” “This year we have put together a first class program with the support of Pro Comp Suspension, BFGoodrich Tires, KMC Wheels, and Monster Energy”. “ Also a big thanks to my team for prepping one of the best trucks out there”.

Pro Comp Suspension Pro-4
The Coyne Motorsports crew worked late into the night repairing the Pro Comp Pro-4. Morning rains cancelled the scheduled morning practices and meant that Marty would not benefit from any additional track time. “Unfortunately we were sidelined early in the race with a mechanical failure and with no practice I am still learning this track” said Marty. At the drop of the green flag Marty was once again at the front of the pack battling with the series veterans. After 12 laps of door-to-door racing action Marty brought the Pro Comp Pro-4 across the finish line in 7th position.

Look for the Pro Comp Pro-2 and Pro-4 to be charging hard at C.O.R.R. Rounds 5 and 6 to be held in Bark River, Michigan on July 8-9 2006.

This event will be nationally broadcast on the Speed Channel. Check your local listings for airdates.
