5:45 PM Update

It looks like contingency is wrapping up here today as the last few race vehicles try to make their way thru tech inspection after wrenching on their cars, trucks, and rhinos all day long; getting them just right for battling against the Nevada desert early tomorrow morning. Many fans are still lingering around trying to catch one last glimpse of their favorite driver before they make their way to the various spots out in the Nevada desert to catch them blowing by at 100mph. The first professional motorcycle will go off the line at 5:45am. Following the bikes, the trucks and cars will launch thru the desert at 9:30, each determined to make it to the finish line before the competition. Stay tuned as we bring it to you live from Pahrump, Nv.

2:50 PM Update

Kreg Donahoe driving the Donhaoe Racing Ford has just passed through the midway point of contingency and technical inspection here at the Terrible’s Casino and the temperatures continue to heat up on the asphalt parking lot of the Terrible’s Town 250.

Donahoe’s FORD is prepped and ready to battle against Greg Foutz and FABTECH owner – Dave Winner, who will rally side-by-side against the competing Donahoe Racing Suspension company. Both trucks look as if they’ve been prepped meticulously and both drivers and teams have demonstrated they can win at any time. Tomorrow’s race will pit the two suspension companies against each other in the Battle of the Terrible’s Town.

Spectators continue to flow into the parking lot as teams are working feverishly to complete their race vehicles for tech inspection.

Rolling across the line now is Garron Cadiente and Ron Whitton, the G&R Racing Team, who are fresh off great performances at the SCORE San Felipe 250, where Garron captured the Trophy Truck victory and Ron finished in the top five. Well, both are here at Terrible’s Town in search of yet another trophy for the trophy cabinet.

The TEAM HUMMER crew led by SCORE Baja 1000 Winner and Champion – Rod Hall, has brought their three Hummer machines into contingency where they stopped at the FOX Racing Shox booth to talk with John Marking and Todd Tenbroek. FOX Racing Shox and TEAM HUMMER have been working very closely to fine tune their suspension on all three Hummer race vehicles.

Dave Ashley / Dan Smith of the Enduro Racing Team debuted their beautiful Trick Truck this morning at the time trials and they are here in contingency answering questions from many here at Terrible’s Casino interested in the first race with their new truck.

DirtNewz caught up with SCORE Class 8 Champion – Todd Wylie who is here racing his Class 8 truck in the trick truck class. Wylie told us he’s getting very close to being finished with his new Trophy Truck, however that truck will not race until the SCORE Primm 300 race later this year. Wylie will be prerunning the upcoming SCORE Baja 500 in his new truck as he searches for another championship season here in 2006.

The fun continues here at Terrible’s Town and DirtNewz staffers will continue to bring the latest from contingency and technical inspection after the action began early this morning at 6 a.m. from the time trials and will continue through early evening.

10:00 AM Update

Best in the Desert’s Terrible’s Town 250 is well-under way here at the Terrible’s Casino in downtown Pahrump, Nevada. With temperatures already pushing 80 degrees and the sun blaring brightly on the asphalt here in the east parking lot, a hundred race vehicles are lined up winding through contingency and technical inspection.

First in line as usual is the #4 Trick Truck belonging to Gustavo Vildosola and his Mexicana Logistics race team that includes All-American off road desert racer, Rob MacCachren. Mac and the #4 rolled the beautiful red and white truck through the contingency lines in preparation of Saturday’s race.

A slew of Yamaha Rhinos are entered in this race and the first one through was the #1999 Rhino that has been redesigned to look like a Class 1500 car. We’ll provide you the photos in a short while. Many of these Rhino vehicles are configured in different setups and the Nevada desert will tell the tale by midday tomorrow.

Damen Jeffries is debuting his new Class 1 car owned and driven by Joe Myers - CEO ARC Fasterners, and is sponsored by Pro Comp Tires. The car features many attributes long associated with the incredibly talented work performed by Jeffries and his crew.

With the sun beating down on contingency row and the lineup of the nation’s top off road racers all here to battle at the Terrible’s Town 250 – the antics are expected to be fun throughout the day as DirtNewz provides you the latest from the Terrible’s Town 250.
