The third race of the BITD
Series is set to go off with a bang this weekend as racers,
pit crew and fans all make their way through the Nevada
Desert to the infamous Vegas to Reno Race. Known to the
world as the longest race in the United States, Vegas
to Reno is over 600 miles and one of the toughest races
in the United States. This race will take racers and their
crew from Southern Nevada through the famous "Pony
Express Trail" all the way to the Northern part of
the state in Reno, Nevada.
At the two previous BITD
races John Herder set the pace for all four wheel vehicles.
Proving that he was out there to finish on top Herder
set the fastest lap in time trials for both races, giving
him the opportunity to start out front and leave everyone
in his dust. That's just what he did. John Herder ran
his Jimco single seat Class 1500 wire-to-wire blowing
everyone away and capturied victory at both the Parker
425 and Terrible's Town 250.

Cadiente celebrates his first year in
Trophy/Trick Truck Desert Racing and
is ready to push hard in the deserts
of Nevada. |

In the Trick Truck class
a rising star to watch is none other than Garron Cadiente.
At the Terrible's Town 250 Garron got out in front and
put his Geiser built truck through the paces showing his
race fans that he was ready to race with the big boys
and captured a first place victory for G&R Racing.
Garron is going into this race third in the points, following
"Pistol Pete" Sohren and Curt Leduc, and will
be the first truck off the line.
"Pistol Pete" will
be running his three seat Speedway truck through the Nevada
Desert with only one thing on his mind, defending his
current points lead and coming out on top. Capturing second
place at the Parker 425 and fifth at the Terrible's Town
250, "Pistol Pete" will be looking for his first
win of the season this weekend.

In the Pro-Motorcycle class
Baja 1000 Champions Mike Childress and Steve Hengeveld
have teamed up once again. At the Parker 425 they teamed
together to race the #76 Trick Truck of Jesse Jones, splitting
the driving and co-driving time to capture a third place
finish in their first ever Trick Truck race. They then
went back to racing in the Open Pro division for the Terrible's
Town 250 and captured victory, leading the next bike by
39 minutes. They will be determined to capture yet another
victory for Honda here this weekend before they get ready
to conquer the Baja desert for the longest race in the
world, the 2006 SCORE / Tecate Baja 1000, stretching all
the way from Ensenada down the peninsula to La Paz, Baja
California.
The Dirtnewz crew has arrived
to Las Vegas, Nevada and will bring you the action live
from the Nevada desert. Stay tuned to celebrate the 10th
anniversary of the BITD Vegas to Reno race promoted by
Casey Folks and his staff at Best in the Desert.
