Carl Renezeder Wins Both Pro-2 Races at Texas
Motor Speedway
Dallas, Texas (October 19, 2007) The first half
of the race was a no match as Scott Taylor started in front
and kept his pace until the mandatory caution came out. At
the mandatory yellow, half way point Rob MacCachren and Ricky
Johnson were hard on Taylor's heels. Ricky Johnson jumped
ahead of Scott Taylor at the restart and they battled door
to door until they took each other going into the corkscrew,
allowing the entire field to pass them. Renezeder takes the
lead with Rob MacCachren only inches behind.
Todd Leduc and Greg Adler pushed each other
to the limits, both vying for the top spot at Texas Motor
Speedway. Greg Adler has been working with none other than
Jon Nelson of Nelson and Nelson on his racing program, who
helped him get his first 2007 CORR podium earlier this evening.
Baldwin Motorsports worked hard between Pro-2
races to make sure that Robby Gordon would be out on the track
in the #77 Monster Energy/ Baldwin Motorsports Pro-2. Robby
did make it to the start line, but the truck didn't seem to
have anything left after the punishing that it got during
the Pro-2 Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup Race.
Carl Renezeder takes the checkered flag about
40 feet in front of Rob MacCachren just after passing the
lapped traffic of Robby Gordon. Todd Leduc continues a strong
season with another podium finish.

Pro-Lite Race Action from Texas Motor Speedway
Naughton Continues His Pro-Lite Domination
Dallas, Texas (October 19, 2007) Top qualifier
Kyle Leduc in his #99 Rockstar Pro-Lite gets taken out by
Ampudia and loses any chances of being on the podium. Kyle
is having a tough season as many pro-lite drivers seem to
be out to get Leduc this season. Ampudia also took out Marty
Hart when Rodrigo overshot a turn who was battling for a podium
finish. Naughton gets the checkered flag and maintains his
lead in the points, while Monster's Rodrigo Ampudia finishes
second.
Avid desert racer Todd Cuffaro, who recently
bought Chad Hord's 2006 Pro-Lite Championship truck was running
in the top five when he put it on it's lid for the second
race in a row. It's been a tough season for many racers, new
and old. Word has it that Chad Hord is itching to be behind
the wheel mixing it up with CORR's best. Chad told Dirtnewz
at Chula Vista that he was definately going to make it to
one more CORR race this season, he isn't at Texas we all know
he'll be ready for the finals in Primm, Nevada.

Douglas Leads Wire to Wire for the Pro-4
Win at Texas Motor Speedway
Pro-4 Action
Dallas, Texas (October 19, 2007) Scott Douglas
started tonights battle on the inside of the front line, and
got out front quick. Douglas felt the pressure from behind
throughout the entire race as the battle for second place
soon elevated. As Johnny told Dirtnewz earlier this evening
he was going into this race to end up on top. Johnny was fighting
for the lead and got a flat before the mandatory yellow, pulled
into the hot pits and made it out on the lead lap. As the
flag went green once again Johnny was at least 300 yards behind
the entire field. Johnny picked his way through the field
to finish just behind Douglas and Troy Herbst on the podium.
Josh Baldwin was running a stong race when Travis
Coyne hit him in turn 5, took Baldwin out of the running and
Coyne ended up getting black flagged.
Another top driver having his chance at the
lead was Monster's Rick Huseman. Rick made his way into second
place to fall out due to a broken swaybar. Huseman made his
way around the track to finish the race as the Pro-4 points
battle continues.
Coming into this round Carl Renezeder was leading
the points race, but got taken out due to a bent right front
spindle.
Going into the Pro-4 points race tomorrow it
will be fender to fender as Douglas, Renezeder and Huseman
are all only points away from capturing a championship.

Renezeder Claims Pro-2 Jason Baldwin Memorial
Cup Opener at Texas Motor Speedway/ Gordon Rolls with Two
Laps to Go
Dallas, Texas (October 19, 2007) Carl Renezeder
captured the Pro-2 opener here at Texas Motor Speedway with
Rob MacCachren escaping the carnage and landing second. Robby
Gordon finally made it to the track with high hopes of capturing
his first podium finish with CORR. Gordon started in the middle
of the pack and fought his way to the front before the madatory
caution. With two laps to go, Robby Gordon put his truck on
two wheels and couldn't save it. The truck went over and caught
fire, Texas Motor Speedway track crew pulled up to the scene
in their Jeeps to handle the situation. Robby walked away
with no injuries but we will be amazed if they can get the
truck back together before tonights second Pro-2 race.

Nascar Driver Robby Gordon's Arrival to Texas
Motor Speedway Delayed
Dallas,
Texas (October 19, 2007) Nascar Nextel Cup driver Robby Gordon's
arrival to Texas Motor Speedway is delayed due to traffic.
We just got word that he is on his way and ready to suit up
as soon as he gets thru the Friday night rush hour traffic.
CORR has adjusted the schedule to accommodate Robby Gordon
and has pushed back the opening ceremonies from 7pm CST to
8pm CST. Originally the Pro-2's were scheduled to race two
races today, and one race tomorrow while the Pro-4's would
race one today and two tomorrow; CORR has switched the schedule
to make sure that Robby Gordon will be able to race all three
races this weekend in the #77 Monster Energy/ Baldwin Racing
Pro-2. Robby will race tonight's Pro-2 race, fly back to Martinsville
Speedway for NASCAR qualifying, fly back to Texas to race
with CORR on Saturday night and then back to Martinsville
Speedway for NASCAR's race on Sunday.
MONSTER Energy VIP Party Off the Hook at
Texas Motor Speedway
Dallas,
Texas (October 19, 2007) As the racers and race fans wait
for the action to begin Dirtnewz staffers mixed it up with
a group of CORR's elite drivers. Monster's top drivers, Johnny
Greaves, Jerry Whelchel, Travis Coyne, Rick Huseman, and Rodrigo
Ampudia all joined the party for a little relaxation and fun
before strapping in behind the wheel. Speed's producers were
also on hand, capturing footage for their latest CORR Speed
commercial.
CORR Crosses Up Racers at Last Minute with
Track Layout at Texas Motor Speedway
Dallas,
Texas (October 18, 2007) If Thursday evening's late practice
was indicative of what is to come tonight under the lights
of Texas Motor Speedway it's going to be a very long night.
Qualifying lasted well into the late evening and now here
today, CORR Officials have changed the track layout twice.
Once early this morning and then again at 2:00 p.m. with only
a few hours before racers are to take to the track.
Ricky Johnson, outfitted in his Alpinestar driver's
suit, directed the heavy equipment in the middle of the track
having dirt moved to specific locations in an attempt to get
the track to an improved condition.
As
the drama meter pegged at full tilt, Monster Energy's Pro
4 driver, Johnny Greaves sat alone atop his race hauler watching
the action from his trackside pit location. "I think
the best spot for me is right here on top of the semi. They
look like they are doing a fine job on the track," said
a smiling Greaves.
They paraded a few Pro 2's and Pro 4's on the
race track led by Ricky Johnson and the test session began.
With dust thick as Central California fog ,the race teams
and industry vendors all ran for cover as the freshly churned
up dirt layed a heavy layer of thick dust on the pits.
Not only could drivers not see the track, but
the few people here at the track could not see the race trucks
on the track. Many people in the pits are wondering how the
fans will see the action from the stands when the action kicks
off with opening ceremonies at 7:00 p.m. CST.
If the dust persists and the track is unable
to keep the dust down for the Friday night racing it surely
will be an event that you wouldn't want to miss.
In other drama, Texas Motor Speedway track officials
have instituted a very strict set of rules/policies for race
teams, vendors and fans to abide by. By 10:00 a.m. this morning
several policies had been ignored and TMS officials threatened
to close down the race action and send teams packing unless
the rules were followed. The 11:00 a.m. drivers meeting was
interesting to say the least.
Besides the track drama going on, Rick Huseman
reported that his #36 Pro 4 is back to life after his crew
swapped out Toyota power late last night for a new motor delivered
to the track by TRD.
With racing action not kicking off until
the early evening their is a lull in the activity here at
Texas Motor Speedway.
Monster's Rick Huseman Qualifies Number 1 in Pro 4 / Red Bull's Rob MacCachren Leads All Pro 2's / Rockstar's Kyle LeDuc Takes #1 Qualifier Spot
Dallas, Texas (October 17, 2007) FABTECH/Monster Energy sponsored
- Rick Huseman lead the elite field of Pro
4 racers setting the fastest qualifying lap at the Texas Motor
Speedway Dirt Track late Thursday night. With qualifying action
beginning well after 9 p.m. and under the lights of Texas
Motor Speedway, race teams were further delayed as they waited
for the overwatered track to dry.
While the watering trucks were laying on another
overload of clear fresh water onto the dirt track, CORR CEO
Jim Baldwin was barking out orders to stop the flow of the
water on the track as the previous two practice sessions saw
racers slipping and sliding all over the race track before
they cancelled the last practice session.
When the track dried, Rick Huseman railed his
#36 Pro 4 around the track setting the fastest time of the
Pro 4's, but he was unable to finish the qualifying session,
which later was determined to be a terminal motor problem.
With a blown motor, Huseman's crew will work late into the
nightt under the lights at TMS changing out the Toyota powerplant.
Rob MacCachren was back to his usual self
this week as he charged the #29 Red Bull Pro 2 to a top spot
over Jerry Whelchel and Ricky Johnson. Greg Adler suffered
issues with his Pro Comp Pro 2 after he had drive belt issues
in all of the practices and the qualifying run as well. Rob
MacCachren told Dirtnewz, "The truck feels good and after
a stumble early in practice we got it going great and I'm
looking forward to a solid weekend."
Rockstar's Kyle LeDuc did not take to the
race track for any of the practice sessions, but he took to
the track for the qualifying session and that was all he needed
to set the fast lap over Robert Naughton, Rodrigo Ampudia
and the rest of the Pro Lite field.
Suffering terminal damage in the final practice
session on Thursday evening, Jeff Geiser suffered a blown
motor. Geiser and crew made the 16-hour drive from Phoenix,
Arizona only to not make it to the qualifying round.
It was reported by sources close to DIRTnewz
that Chad Hord was calling in for the latest Pro Lite reports
all the way from Felch, Michigan as he prepares to trek to
Las Vegas, Nevada for the final CORR race of the season in
two-weeks.
Racing action does not kick off each evening
until 7 p.m. with Pro 4 and Pro 2 racing action near the end
of each evening.
CORR Arrives To Texas Motor Speedway
Dallas, Texas (October 17, 2007) The CORR Nation
has arrived to the huge Texas Motor Speedway just outside
of Dallas, Texas. As the CORR Nation of off road racers lined
up to move into the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track, they
were welcomed by the Texas Air National Guard as they conduct
flying manuevers overhead the Texas Motor Speedway.
Many teams have made the trek to Texas Motor
Speedway for the next couple rounds of the 2007 CORR Lucas
Oil Series racing in the state where everything is big, big
and ginnormous.
With racing slated for both Friday and Saturday
evening under the lights at the TMS Dirt Track, the quiet
of the day has allowed teams to work on their trucks all day
long. In fact, the drivers meeting for Thursday practice and
qualifying does not kick off until 5pm with practice beginning
at 6pm and actual qualifying at 9pm this evening.
A stiff breeze has keep the dirt down at the
TMS Dirt Track as heavy equipment continues to work towards
completing the track. Late Wednesday, several teams had the
opportunity to get onto the dirt track, one being Red Bull's
Rob MacCachren, driving the #29 Red Bull Pro 2 race truck.
MacCachren commented, "The track has some work to be
done, but by the time racing begins on Friday night amid thousands
of fans here in Texas I'm sure it will be a great show. The
Red Bull #29 Pro 2 is ready to race and we're excited to get
back behind the wheel."
MacCachren is set to battle against Pro 2 point's
leader - Jerry Whelcel driving the MONSTER Energy/Wide Open
Baja Pro 2 and they will duel in front of a packed house of
Texans. The dirt track at Texas Motor Speedway is a beautiful
facility that stands in the shadows of the NEXTEL Nascar Cup
stadium. Wednesday evening, NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion - Tony
Stewart was here testing and rumor was he was itching to get
into the Baldwin Racing Pro 2 that Robby Gordon is slated
to race on both Friday and Saturday nights.
Looming in the difficult but yet elite Pro 4
field is a battle among some of the toughest racers in off
road racing. Perennial favorite, Carl Renezeder, stands atop
the Pro 4 field leading by a 34 points over FABTECH's Rick
Huseman. Huseman stands atop a strong field of contenders
that includes Scott Douglas, Travis Coyne and Troy Herbst,
all who are within 15 points of Rick Huseman's second place
standing.
MONSTER Energy's Jerry Whelchel leads the Pro
2 field with a 17 point lead heading into the second to last
race weekend of the season. Chasing him in second is Ricky
Johnson, Carl Renezeder, Rob MacCachren and Todd LeDuc. This
weekend's racing could determine the difference between those
that have a chance at Jerry Whelchel and those that will only
chase.
The Pro Lite field seemed to have a front runner
at the midway point of the season as Robert "Fig"
Naughton was unbeatable until the last couple races. Naughton's
margin of point leading slipped to only 15 points overall
with Casey Currie banging on the door of Naughton and Rodrigo
Ampudia right behind him. With two full race weekends left,
the season championship is on the line.
