RICK HUSEMAN SECURES HIS FIRST PRO 4 WIN OF 2008 AND HOMETOWN FAVORITE ROB MACCACHREN WINS IN PRO 2 FOR MENZIES MOTORSPORTS

Primm, NV (May 18, 2008) — Championship Off Road Racing had a great day of racing at Las Vegas International Off Road Raceway in Primm, NV. Rick Huseman in his Fabtech # 3 took home his first Pro 4 win of the season and Vegas native Rob MacCachren won the Pro 2 race for Menzies Motorsports. Bryan Freeman won his fourth straight race in the Single Buggy class for Menzies Motorsports and teammate Brock Krahenbuhl finished third. Defending Pro Lite Champion Robert Naughton took the win in Pro Lite.

Greg Adler in his 4 Wheel Parts # 10 started on the pole in today’s Pro 2 race after the field was inverted.  Jeremy McGrath in his Monster Energy Drink/Bully Dog/KMC # 15 shot out front on the first lap. Pro 2 Champion Scott Taylor followed behind in second and current Pro 2 Champion Jerry Whelchel sat in third.  Whelchel kept working the inside line of turns two and four attempting to pass Taylor for the second position. When the competition caution came out on lap 9 of 18 McGrath still led the field.  Taylor went off the track during the caution giving Whelchel the second position.  Rob MacCachren in his Rockstar Energy Drink # 21 started towards the back of the pack and worked his way up to the fifth position. MacCachren got around Whelchel on turn 2 to take the second position behind McGrath.  MacCachren got around McGrath to take the lead on lap 15.  Renezeder began to gain on McGrath for the second position.  Renezeder went to the inside of turn 2 but was unable to pass McGrath.  Renezeder passed McGrath with one lap to go in turn 2.  In the end it was MacCachren with the win, Renezeder in second and McGrath placing third.

Carl Renezeder in his Lucas Oil # 1 started on the pole today in the Pro 4 race. Josh Baldwin in his Bully Dog/KMC # 86 went three wide coming out of turn two to take the lead. Baldwin went off the track on the straight away to start lap 2. His truck broke and he was unable to return to the race. Renezeder took the lead again with Rick Huseman in his Fabtech # 3 in second.  Huseman shot to the lead coming out of turn 3.  The competition caution came out on lap 9 with Huseman in the lead.  Kyle LeDuc in his Rockstar Energy Drink/Makita #99 passed Renezeder for the second position on lap 12.  Scott Douglas in his Amsoil # 7 passed Renezeder for the third position on lap 15.  In the end it was Huseman with the win, Kyle LeDuc in second and Douglas finishing third.

Chris Brandt started on the pole today in the Pro Lite race. Pro Lite Champion Chad Hord shot to the front to take the lead on lap 1. Casey Currie in his Bully Dog/ Speed Technologies # 2 followed in the second position before Robert Naughton in his Ready Lift/ Maxxis # 54 and Rodrigo Ampudia in his Papas and Beers # 36 passed him to battle it out for the second position coming out of turn 2.  Ampudia prevailed over Naughton securing second place on lap 4.  Ampudia took the lead on lap 6 after Hord fell to the back of the pack. The competition caution came out on lap 8 with Ampudia still out front.  Ampudia and Naughton were side by side going into turn 2 when the race went green.  Naughton passed Ampudia in turn 3 to take the first position on lap 10.  In the end it was Naughton with the win, Ampudia finishing second and Jeff Kincaid rounding out the podium.
