Dear Drivers:
After reviewing Adrian Cenni's disqualifications, it has become evident that with the new points awarding system, a Disqualification is too severe of a penalty. In comparing this year's points system to last year's, a disqualification decision this year would have three to four times the impact that it would have had in previous years, effectively erasing a driver's chance of being a competitive force in the standings.
CORR has reevaluated the points awarded to drivers that received a disqualification in 2008. The following changes have been made:
Adrian Cenni will receive the following points:
- Round 3--Pro 4--69 Points
- Round 4--Pro 4--69 Points
- Round 4--Pro 2--62 Points
Rodrigo Ampudia will receive the following points:
- Round 2--Pro 2--47 Points
Scott Peterson will receive the following points:
- Round 4--Pro Buggy--29 Points
For all future races, any major infraction will be reviewed by CORR officials following each event weekend with penalties imposed on the Wednesday following the race. In the future, infractions will be handled by point deductions. CORR still reserves the right to impose disqualifications in very severe infractions.
We look forward to seeing you in Pomona.
