SAN FELIPE, Mexico (March 18th 2009) – Marc Burnett continued his winning “Ironman” streak by storming his Boost Mobile / Monster Energy / General Tire Ford Ranger to a Class 6 - Mini Trophy Truck win in the SCORE San Felipe 250. Just as he did in his Class-winning run at the 2008 Baja 1000, Burnett drove the entire race as the solo driver of the truck. His winning time was 5:25:20.

“This is the second time racing SCORE in this truck – we won the SCORE Baja 1000 with this one, so we’re 2-for-2 in this truck,” he said at the finish line. “It was a pretty flawless race – we had no flats with the General Tire Grabber competition tires. They performed beautifully all day long. I’m going to continue driving solo – I Iron-manned the Baja 1000 and I’m going solo every race from now on.”
“This was an incredible win. We couldn’t be happier with Marc’s accomplishment today,” said Tony Talbert, Light Truck Product Manager, General Tire. “Marc epitomizes the Team General spirit and grit that got him through this course Ironman-style, to come out on top. Our hat’s off to him and his entire team for an outstanding effort!
“This win marks another step forward in General Tire’s assault on desert racing, and our Grabber competition tires came through in winning style yet again, under very difficult conditions,” Talbert added.
General Tire is again ‘unleashing the fury’ in off-road performance for 2009, in the second year running its Grabber competition tires.
