Las Vegas, Nevada • January 19, 2009 – B.J. Baldwin, the Las Vegas, Nevada resident and reigning SCORE Trophy Truck Champion, agreed to terms with Travis Roffler, General Tire Marketing Director, to race on General Tires throughout the 2009 desert racing season. In an economic climate where sponsors have been pulling back ever so slightly with their 2009 marketing dollars, General Tire's maverick, Travis Roffler, continues to push General Tire brand towards the forefront.
In 2008, General Tire captured several victories among the truck racing divisions and now that GT has partnered with Ballastic BJ Baldwin, you can expect they'll be in the hunt for victories at the 2009 SCORE Desert Series.
Ballistic BJ Baldwin is the reigning 2008 SCORE Trophy Truck Champion and he'll take the #1 Trophy Truck to this weekend's SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge on General Tire.
Baldwin won last year's SCORE Baja 500 and claimed the top spot in the 2008 SCORE Trophy Truck Overall Championship on the tough BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR 39" Racing Tire.
While the 39" inch General Tire is under development, B.J. Baldwin will run the 37" inch Grabber tire manufactured by General Tire. That same 37" inch Grabber tire has proven itself in the deserts of North America throughout the 2008 season, however Baldwin will be racing a smaller tire from what he recently won the SCORE Championship with.
