Crandon, Wisconsin—The last time Rob MacCachren raced at the world famous Crandon International Raceway was 2001. For the last eight years, many of the nation’s top racers have churned up the dirt and rocks in search of the magic that MacCachren discovered at this 40 year old race course. To date, no one has established the winning record that MacCachren has over his 8-year span at the legendary raceway.
Crandon, Wisconsin—The difference between winning and losing often comes down to preparation. In the world of professional off-road racing, nowhere is this more evident than at the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL races in Crandon, Wisconsin. Crandon features three professional races rather than the usual two. In addition to the two TORC races, Crandon runs the Chairman’s Cup at the Spring Brush Run and the BorgWarner Cup on Labor Day weekend. The top professional teams will race twice on Sunday. Major repairs are often necessary between the two Sunday races making every minute in the pit count. That’s why the Red Bull Off-Road Racing Barlow Motorsports team depends on the muscle, speed, and efficiency of Bosch Power Tools. The state-of-the-art Lithium-Ion battery technology in the new Bosch LitheonÔ Batteries allow the crew to repair and prep the race trucks without downtime chasing air hoses or extension cords. When the green flag drops for the second time on Sunday, the Red Bull F-150’s driven by Steve Barlow and Ricky Johnson will be in top form thanks to careful preparation by the Barlow Motorsports race team.

Crandon 101: Highlights
Crandon International Off-Road Raceway is located one mile (1.6 km) west of Crandon, Wisconsin on U.S. Route 8. The original off-road track was 1.75 miles (2.82 km). Shortly after, the track was shortened to 1.5 miles (2.4 km). In 2002, a shortcut through the track was installed to allow a 1.25 mile (2.01 km) long lap. The change allows spectators to see the entire track, and it is utilized for selected events. A well known aspect to the Crandon races is the "land-rush start". Vehicles are lined up at the start line side-by-side, when the track goes green it's full throttle to see who can come out of turn one in the lead.
Crandon International Off-Road Raceway, Off-Road's Big House, "Where Champions are crowned." Tickets for the June 20-21 TORC race weekend at Crandon are $30. More information is available at torcseries.com or crandonoffroad.com.
