Sacramento, CA – Sacramento’s Moss brothers brought home a third consecutive SNORE event win in their 1979 KC HiLiTES Ford Bronco at last weekend’s 25th SNORE Mint 400 Off Road race. The 106 mile course got chopped up quick with over 250 entries in twenty two classes making four laps, which led to heavy attrition and a less than 40% finish rate. Included this year for the first time in 23 years, was the infamous Rock Garden, a treacherous amalgamation of small boulders, ditches and shale rock beds. Finishing in just over 15 hours and after 11 pm at night, the team completed the last lap with only first gear, barely adding an hour to their best overall lap time.

Gary Messer and his crew drove a flawless race at the SNORE General Tire Mint 400 this last weekend. Running a perfect race and winning the class by a large margin over Bruce and Fawn Finchum who took 2nd place. 3rd place goes to first time podium finishers Bruce and Kyle Freisen, and 4th place was Robby Woolworth in a TROPHYLITE house rental truck...... Louis Chamberland defending TROPHYLITE serise champion, Steve Hengeveld well known motorcycle racer, and Jim Riley owner of Azunia Tequila also finished the grueling course.

FULLERTON, CA. – (March 30, 2010) – It was a family affair for Yokohama off-road champions Heidi and Cameron Steele at the SNORE Mint 400 near Las Vegas over the weekend. Heidi won her first Class 7 race of the year, with a big assist from husband Cameron and teammate Jamie Campbell.

Driving her Ford Ranger (with off-the-shelf Yokohama Geolandar M/T+® tires), Heidi and her Desert Assassins team captured the race with a time of 10:47:16.296. Heidi drove the first 200 miles and was in third place when she handed the truck over to Campbell who quickly raced it into second place.

With one lap to go, Cameron Steele jumped in and used his veteran skills to maneuver the Ranger into first and held on for the victory.

RENO, NV MARCH 30, 2010 - Roger Norman is the pinnacle of the 2010 Mint 400 in his Norman Motorsports Crystal Bay Casino #8 truck. Norman pole positioned, never got passed and seemed no one ever came within 2 minutes in corrected time. “Winning overall coupled with taking the pole position in qualifying makes this an epic event for us,” smiles Norman.

When Larry Roeseler took the wheel two laps into the race, he had an 8 minute 22 second lead. “The truck is incredible!” exclaimed Norman. “John Castro, our crew chief, has improved the truck like you wouldn’t believe over the last 2 ½ years. All the tires stay on the ground and you have complete control of the car at higher speeds.” Between the perfect set ups and the Baja Fools three record setting pit stops for fuel and tires, it made the Norman Motorsports team the strongest in the pack. They finished the race in 8 hours, 37 minutes and 29 seconds, a full eleven minutes before Bobby Baldwin, the 2nd place finisher.

Las Vegas, Nevada (March 29, 2010) Debuting the gorgeous fire engine red Geiser-built Trophy Truck for the fans in their hometown was something special this past weekend, as the Menzies Motorsports ‘Big Red Machine” rolled out the new Unlimited Production Trophy Truck for the historic SNORE MINT 400.

It was in 1968 that the Mint Hotel public relations director, Norm Johnson, created the first ever Del Web MINT 400 Desert Rally. Some 42 years later, the historic race has reached new heights as the SNORE Series has put new life into a race that has seen the likes of Indianapolis 500 Champions, Bobby and Al Unser, not to mention Hollywood adventure seekers James Garner and Lee Majors who both raced for the checkers.

Las Vegas, Nevada (March 28, 2010) One of the nation’s top off road racers, Larry Roeseler, led the way for the NORMAN Motorsports team as he and his team owner, Roger Norman earned the overall victory at this season’s SNORE Mint 400 desert race.

Larry Roeseler, the well-known off road racing champion, ran a wicked pace in the #8 Norman Motorsports Trophy Truck establishing the fastest lap of the day with a time of 2 hours, 4 minutes and 4 seconds besting the entire field of competition all day long. After two ferocious laps, Roeseler handed the Crystal Bay Casino-backed Trophy Truck to the worldwide adventurer and team owner, Roger Norman.

As a successful entrepreneur, Steve Menzies was not rattled by the thought of such a daunting task. His dream has slowly evolved to reality over the past several years and in only a couple days it will all be revealed as Menzies Motorsports ‘Big Red Machine’ unleashes their new Geiser-built Trophy Truck for the 25th running of the historic MINT 400.

Sacramento, CA – Sacramento’s Moss Brothers Racing team is heading for the wilds of Nevada to compete in this weekend’s General Tire Mint 400 Off Road race. Brothers Don and Ken Moss will be piloting their stalwart 1979 KC HiLiTES Ford Bronco with the support of their ‘Black Bronco Crew’ as they join nearly 300 racers on the Moapa Indian Reservation north of Las Vegas on Saturday, March 27, intent on winning their third Class 3 title at this event.

The Moss Brothers have been campaigning the same KC HiLiTES Ford Bronco for 10 years now in off road racing and estimate that they have put over 20,000 OFF ROAD miles on it in that time. The Moss Brothers have won seven SCORE Class 3 championships and have 31 class wins in those ten years. The all volunteer ‘Black Bronco Crew’ that supports the Moss Brothers are excited to get back in the dirt after making numerous repairs to the KC HiLiTES Bronco following the punishing SCORE Baja 1000 race last November.

Las Vegas, NV – The toughest off-road race in Nevada is just a couple of days away. The 25th running of the historic SNORE/General Tire Mint 400 will take place this Saturday, March 27th at 7am starting at the Moapa Travel Plaza (exit 75 Valley of Fire road) on the Moapa Indian Reservation, 25 minutes north of Las Vegas off Interstate 15.

Ever since Norm Johnson, former public relations director for the Del Webb Hotels created the Mint 400 in 1968, the Mint has grown rapidly in popularity.

The SNORE/General Tire Mint 400 will not be an easy race. Racers will be challenged on the 105 mile course with a treacherous section known as “the rock garden,” which features shale rock beds, boulders, ditches, cactus and “gotchas” strewn throughout the area. Veteran desert racer and former Mint winner Cameron Steele says “I grew up racing in the rock the garden in the 80’s, and even though it cost me victories, I am looking forward to waging war this year!”
