Harley Letner set the pace early on and battled it out with Pat Dean and Class 1 defending champion Randy Wilson. Letner may have been leading but his teammate Kory Halopoff took over the Class 1 lead by 1 second in front of Dan Martin in the COPS Class 1 car. Justin Smith will take over the driving duties in the COPS class 1 for tomorrow's final and will start side by side in the front row next to Halopoff.

With three laps to go it's going to be a fight to the finish between Letner, Dean and defending class 1 champ Randy Wilson.

#107 of Damen Jefferies passed Daniel seconds before the DO NOT PASS ZONE, clipped the side of Daniels car and raged forward to the S/F.

Continuing the battle to the finish it's Harley Letner in the lead 15 seconds in front of Pat Dean.

#112 of Harley Letner moves into the lead in front of the #110 LVDC of Pat Dean and defending Class Champion 100 Randy Wilson

120 of Richard Boyle pulls off to the side at the start of lap 4, looks to be having clutch issues but gets going again.

Dan McMillin in the #118 is running a strong pace in his first ever SCORE Class 1 race.

Andy McMillin takes the win for today in the #31 McMillin homes Trophy Truck. Pistol Pete passes Cameron for second as Cameron is yet to come into the infield. Chad Ragland takes 3rd. Stay tuned as we get the official results from SCORE.

Just got word that Cameron Steele's truck caught on fire, which was the cause of his DNF for today.

Robby Gordon's truck is just now finishing and looks to be the last finisher for today's Round 1 of racing.

The class 1 race will begin in 30 minutes so stay tuned.

Robbie Pierce got the truck fixed and they will now race to finish.

1:55 UPDATE

Robbie Pierce out of the race and will get a DNF for the weekend. They will still race in tomorrow's round to accumulate points but will not get a finish for the race.

Andy McMillin, Steele, Sohren and Ragland are all out on their last lap. Stay tuned!!

1:50 UPDATE

Andy McMillin now holds a steady lead with Steele about 20 seconds behind him. If Steele can kick it up a notch he still has a chance at coming out on top here today.

Scheeler, Nunley and Weyrich come in within 1 second of each other all fighting for a top 5 position.

1:42 UPDATE

Andy McMillin, Cameron Steele, Pete Sohren and Chad Ragland all lead the field by a good 4-6 minute lead.

Clyde Stout currently 3 laps down. Rob MacCachren still running strong but now has no co-driver as John Vance, who was in the truck, got out to help teammate #30 Robbie Pierce.

Tavo Vildolsola goes off the course and Andy McMillin takes over the lead. Tavo gets stuck on a burm and backs up and now having problems with the truck. Co-driver gets out and is looking under the truck trying to find out what went wrong. Tavo gets out of the truck and is now heading back to his pit, they are out of the race.

The current battle for the lead is between Vildolsola and Andy McMillin as the racers complete 1/2 of the race. These drivers are striving to finish today's race or if they don't they will get a DNF for the weekend.

Vildolsola takes over the lead. Rob MacCachren tows teammate Robbie Pierce to the hot pits so they can attempt to fix the broken drive shaft and get back on the course to finish for the day and not receive a DNF for the weekend.

1:25 UPDATE

Andy McMillin hold his lead but is definately feeling the pressure of Gus Vildolsola Jr only 2 seconds behind him. Cameron Steele maintains his third place position, with Pete Sohren in 4th. Be sure to check out our video page and see the friendly rivalry between Steele and Sohren who have a bet going on this race.

Robbie Pierce having issues as they have not come back to S/F to complete their third lap. Pierce's crew is loading up a drive shaft and taking it to the hot pits now so it looks like that may be the problem.

Andy McMillin pulls ahead of Tavo Vildolsola after only two laps as they head into the infield, Tavo less than 4 seconds behind. Cameron Steele running only 20 seconds behind McMillin with Sohren in 4th 45 seconds behind the leader. Chad Ragland, in the #97 Baldwin Motorsports truck, rounds out the top 5.

Tavo Vildolsola pulls into the S/F first only seconds ahead of Andy McMillin but Andy doesn't let that stop him and he pushes forward side by side next to Tavo. Running order after lap 1: Tavo, McMillin, Steele, Sohren, Ragland, Pierce, Sykes

#50 Jason McNeil pulls off to the side of the course at the start already having problems

Vildolsola pulls ahead of Andy at the start, Pistol Pete ahead of Cameron at the dual, Robbie Pierce and the #7 of Dave Sykes side by side over the first jump neither one letting off. Pierce pushes forward as Sykes goes sideways and stops trying to get back on the course.

Trophy Trucks are on the start line with 1 minute to go. Andy McMillin and Tavo Vildolsola are side by side, who will jump ahead?

12:00 UPDATE:

Cody Freeman is the first finisher in SCORE Lite with Justin Smith close behind. Stay tuned for official results.

Mike Lawrence still holds the Class 10 lead with 1 lap to go over Sergio Salgado. It looks like David Greenhill in the #1003 is having problems. Greenhill has made it back on the course but is about 1/2 lap down.

Jessica McMillin behind the wheel in the #1205 car for her first ever time driving in a SCORE race. Jessica will race the entire SCORE season for her first ever full season as driver of record. Don't be fooled she isn't a stranger to racing, Jessica regularly takes the duties of Navigator in the #31 McMillin Homes Trophy Truck for her father Scott McMillin.

With two laps to go it's Freeman in front with the clean air but Justin Smith has moved from 15th place to 2nd place and is leading on corrected time. Smith, Huerta, Villagomez and Freeman are all very close to putting their cars in the winners circle and we'll just have to wait and see how the net two laps play out.

1212 of Matthew Kupicec is having issues with his right front assembly and will have to make it all the way to the hot pits if he wants his crew to take a look at it

After two laps Justin Smith moves into third place physically behind Cody Freeman and Bill Hernquist in the SCORE Lite Class which will put him in front of both of them on corrected time as Smith started in 15th position.

In Class 10, Lawrence holds his lead ahead of Greenhill and Salgado. Hunter & Rodriguez didn't make it to the start line so there in only three class 10 cars.

Mike Lawrence leads Class 10 after 1 lap with David Greenhill and Sergio Salgado close behind. In the SCORE Lite battle it's Cody Freeman in the lead in front of Langley, Hernquist, Araiza, Smith, Huerta, Villagomez, Kupiec, Brent Parkhouse, Callaway and McNeil. Smith has already moved up 10 positions

Class 10's and SCORE Lites are off and raging around the track with Mike Lawrence and Talya Dodson leading the classes.

9:13 UPDATE: Rob MacCachren named your 1600 winner over Corey Boyer by 4 seconds! The top three racers were extremely close as MacCachren finished with an elapsed time of 53:11, Boyer 53:15 and Smith 53:19.

** After heading down to the finish line we realized that Corey Boyer took over the driving duties in the #1648 and will be your unofficial winner for the first day of racing here at the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge in class 1600.

Trophy Truck UPDATE: Robby Gordon has decided to switch himself back to the driver of record because it looks like he will be able to make it back from the Dakar Rally on time. Gordon's #1 Championship Truck will change back to the #1 plate and he will now have his friend Steve Kendal drive the truck for today's race. Kendal's goal is to make it around the track today and hand the truck off to Gordon who will charge for the win on Sunday. Gordon will be defending his win at last years 2009 SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge as well as his SCORE Trophy Truck Championship title.

7:50 UPDATE: 14 seconds behind the physical leader, Rob MacCachren, is Kyle Conlon. Justin Smith 56 seconds behind Rob MacCachren and still leads by 4 seconds on corrected time. With one lap to go it's going to be a close call between Smith, MacCachren and Rick Boyer who has now moved within seconds of Smith & Rob.

Oswaldo Castil has lost a ton of time on this last lap (#5) as he moves back about 10 positions. Dan McMillin has yet to complete more than 1 lap and looks to be out of the race.

7:40 UPDATE: Rob MacCachren moves into the lead with Conlon only seconds behind physically. Smith still leads on corrected time but it will be close at the end of this lap with only a few seconds separating them. Rory Ward leads Spts Car, Robert Morton is the only Class 9 car and still running strong as William Eriksen leads Cl 2.

7:30 UPDATE: Justin Smith moves into the 3rd position physically and has now taken over the lead on corrected time. Physically on the track after 2 laps it's Conlon, MacCachren, Smith, Castil, Harris, Robinson, Luke McMillin, Tucker, Rick Boyer, Brian Wilson, Mantalvan, Duran, Brad Wilson, Evan Duran, Velazco.

Dan McMillin obviously having some issues as he hasn't come through to complete the last two laps.
