TORCHMATE AND LOVELL JOIN FORCES TO LAUNCH NEW OFF-ROAD TEAM
HAMMERS, CALIFORNIA - February 19, 2009 - The tumultuous world of off-road racing is never short of headlines hyping new associations and sponsors. Some deflate as fast as they were thought up while others display a substantive announcement. Reflecting the latter, Torchmate CNC Cutting Systems has partnered with Lovell Racing to form a comprehensive off-road racing team – Torchmate Racing. The primary objectives of the team are to be highly competitive across multiple venues and to provide a marketing platform for Torchmate CNC Cutting Systems as well as other partner companies.
The team consists of owner Bill Kunz, desert racer Greg Jones, Jeepspeed pilot and Shaffer’s Offroad owner Mike Shaffer, unlimited rockcrawler Jesse Haines, pro-modified captain Brad Lovell, and XRRA champion Roger Lovell. The group is responsible for multiple championships in the past and in 2009 will jointly enter nearly 50 competitions across seven venues in the rocks, dirt, and desert. Along with this notable group is a skilled team that will tell the story and help keep all the moving parts moving.
“Bill Kunz and I have had long discussions and I really feel that we have a shared vision,” comments Brad Lovell, “We are focused on quality and intend to let our results speak for themselves. In line with that quality, we are extremely proud to welcome AMSOIL as our new co-title sponsor. From a personal standpoint, I am thrilled to be involved in multiple forms of off-road racing.” Bill Kunz, of Torchmate CNC Cutting Systems adds, “I am so excited about 2009 and the Torchmate Racing program. Brad and Roger Lovell bring a level of skill, experience and organization to the team that should allow us to become an extremely competitive force in multiple aspects of off-road racing. I can’t thank the off-road community enough for embracing Torchmate CNC Cutting Systems since our entry into competitive rockcrawling in 2008. It is an honor to have become a part of it. This year we will spread our wings across the sports of rock racing, desert racing, hillclimbing, and rockcrawling. There are a lot of event wins and series championships on our driver’s resumes. I can promise that if you see the Torchmate logo on the side of a rig, it is going to be worth watching.”
Torchmate Racing will premier 4 new vehicles at the upcoming King of the Hammers race on Feb. 27th. Brad Lovell (#232) and Roger Lovell (#32) will each take the wheel of a sleek Torchmate / AMSOIL Ford Ranger while Jesse Haines (#199) will pilot the newly fabricated Torchmate racer. Rockcrawling champion Jason Scherer will also be outfitted with the Torchmate logos for the race. Torchmate staff will be on hand with an operational machine to help all competitors make repairs.
