Crandon, WI (June 24, 2007) –Johnny Greaves drove his Monster Toyota / Potawatomi sponsored Pro 4 to victory in Round 3 of the WSORR Lucas Oil Series at the Crandon International Raceway. Greaves was in perfect form after a late night work session to dial in the #22 Pro 4. "Once again, all the hard work and persistence paid off as we got back into the winner's circle in Crandon," commented Crew Chief Curt Greaves.
Johnny Greaves last raced here at Crandon International Raceway in the fall of 2006 where he suffered arguably the worst crash of his entire racing career. Not having set foot back on this facility since that date, Greaves Motorsports arrived to Crandon with a vengeance for victory and that came midday Sunday after running away from the field in the #22 Monster Energy/Potawatomi/Toyota Tundra captuing the win in the third round of the 2007 WSORR Lucas Oil Series.
Greaves fought off a myriad of obstacles including the decision by WSORR officials at the last minute to place the #22 race truck on the back row for the start. The last minute decision was based on the fact that Johnny Greaves did not race Otwanna, Minnesota WSORR opener.
It ended up not being a factor as the veteran racer drove by the fielded after only four laps to take his first victory since the bad crash in the fall of 2006. Full story coming soon.
