JERRY WHELCHEL’S off road racing career has spanned over 20 successful years. As a top tier driver he has captured numerous off road racing championships, the most recent being the 2007 CORR National Championship Pro 2 Title.
Team owner, Chet Huffman, commented, “We are all very excited about signing championship racer, Jerry Whelchel, to the CHM Racing team.
Jerry will campaign our No.1 Chevy Pro-2 truck, as an integral component to our expanding race team in a bid for the 08 Championship. Jerry has raced with us before and we feel very comfortable and confident with him in the main slot. With the CORR series gearing up fast for the 08’ season having a reigning Pro-2 champion of Jerry’s caliber involved with our team is certainly going to be a tremendous asset.”
CHET HUFFMAN MOTORSPORTS Off Road Racing will campaign a two-truck team throughout the entire 2008 CORR Series, which features nine weekends of door-to-door off road racing, slated to be televised on NBC Sports the Sunday afternoon following the live action.
In Desert Racing, Jerry and Team Owner Chet Huffman will campaign the teams brand new Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck towards victory and a title in the 08’ Best in the Desert series and select SCORE OFFROAD races.
Driver Bio: Jerry Whelchel
Acknowledged as one of the sport’s most prolific and exciting drivers to watch, Jerry Whelchel’s winning reputation on the track is beyond refute. Now a full-time Chet Huffman Motorsports company employee, Whelchel is the only competitor to have raced in every Mickey Thompson Entertainment Group event in that series’ history. He not only raced, but he won and won often in spectacular fashion. It was a trademark that the off-road champion took into Trophy-Truck racing, making the transition from open wheel buggies to 800-horsepower unlimited desert machines in the Whelchel tradition as a winner and now as a Champion.
