Fond du Lac, WI (March 3, 2008)– Waldvogel Racing’s team owner and driver, Dave Waldvogel, started his team in 2003 with a number of goals: to be competitive, to be respected and to enjoy the sport of off-road racing. Five years later, those goals have become reality thanks to support of sponsors, crew, family and fans.

The journey started with winning a few races in the Stock Truck class….then a championship. With each success, the expectation and corresponding goals increased a notch and along the way, the Waldvogel team secured help from some amazing sponsors.

Waldvogel was one of the first trucks to compete on Toyo TiresTM and was featured in a full-page ad in several national magazines after winning a championship in his first season with Toyo in 2005. If you look at that ad from 2005, there is a small blue decal on the front fender of the truck, courtesy of Bendix® by Honeywell.

In 2005, Dave carved out a deal with the Bendix brand to receive free brake pads and rotors for his race truck.  In return, he raced with the Bendix brand decal on his truck and mentioned their name on the podium a few times throughout the season. In 2006, the Bendix brand signed up as the primary sponsor of the Waldvogel Racing CORR Stock Truck. In 2007, the brand increased its sponsorship and supplied the push to put Dave into the World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR) Super Truck class.

Dave found the winners circle early and often during his first season in Super Truck, barely missing another championship in only his first year in the new class.

With the support of the Bendix brand in 2008, the Waldvogel Racing team will move up another step to the WSORR Pro-2wd class. The familiar Toyo Tires decal will remain along with several other product sponsors that have stuck with Waldvogel Racing from the beginning.

When asked about his team’s rise through the ranks of off-road racing, Waldvogel commented, “This would not have been possible without the support of sponsors like Bendix by Honeywell, Toyo Tires or any of the other sponsors we have on our team.”

Waldvogel went on to say, “We are very excited at the opportunity to compete in the Pro-2wd class. Our goal again will be to make the Bendix by Honeywell/Toyo Tires Pro-2wd a contender to win starting with our first race in Wheatland, Missouri.”

The Bendix by Honeywell /Toyo Tires Pro-2wd of Waldvogel Racing will compete in all 12 rounds of racing in the 2008 WSORR series as well as their famed “cup” races—all of which will be televised on the SPEED channel in the fall of 2008. Waldvogel will be competing in a custom built 2008 Chevrolet Silverado Pro-2wd race truck with up to 20-inches of wheel travel and over 800HP. The Waldvogel Racing team is also sponsored by Phlox Auto, AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants, Raceline Wheels by Allied, MSD Ignition, and Fox Racing Shox.
