CRANDON, Wisc. (June 21, 2008) — Monster Energy's Johnny Greaves reigned as the Saturday champion in preparaton of the highly anticipated longest running high stakes off-road Cup race – the Forest County Potawatomi Chairman’s Cup Challenge.

WSORR racers opened up to a beautiful weekend of racing at Crandon’s wide open 1.5-mile circuit on Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22, where the reknown Crandon Raceway is celebrating an astounding 39th consecutive year of off-road racing.    

That set the stage for the Monster Energy/Forest County Potawotomi sponsored racer as he debuted his truck east of the Mississippi for the first time in 2008 after kicking off the first half of the CORR season in sunny California and Las Vegas.

Johnny Greaves, Abrams, Wisconsin, lives only 75 miles from the world-class off road track and he should no mercy for the competition Saturday as the team put together an incredible run for the checkered flag after an absence that dates back to last September. Greaves battled against Amsoil's Scott Douglas, Kent Brascho, Mark Jenkins and a handful of others in what was a dominating performance by # 4 Team Monster Energy.

"It's always good to come back home and run fast for our Mid-West fans. The old girl ran about as good as she can on these wide-open fast tracks. The team dialed in the truck this morning during practice and we nailed the setup so we're pretty happy heading into Sunday's Cup race, " said a smiling Johnny Greaves from the podium where he sipped his Monster Energy.

"I'm really looking forward to the CUP race. This is special to us and the track puts on a great race with great sponsors in front of thousands of people. The truck is ready to rock and roll and no doubt that we'll be charging for the finish line hard."
