The Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL announced today that they will be turning up the heat on 2009's broadcast of their fast paced, high action off road truck series. What better person for the task than the fastest woman on record in a Nitro Nostalgia Funny Car, Leah Pruett. "Leah is not only a pretty face, but she has vast knowledge and experience in various types of motorsports so I have a lot of confidence that she will add to the show." stated Mitch Covington of TORC. "We really loved Leah's TV show "Funny Girl" and decided that she has what takes to light-up our pit reporting on ESPN."
"I have been involved in motorsports from the time I was born, first as a daughter watching her father, then as a competitor on the drag racing circuit, and now I am excited to get in front of the camera and be part of the TORC Series team," stated Pruett. "The racing industry is my passion and I cannot wait to convey that energy to the fans watching at home."
Pruett will make her national television debut for rounds 7 & 8 at Bark River International Raceway as the pit reporter for ESPN2, which will air on July 19th, 2009 at 11:30am EST.
