Santa Ana, CA (November 10, 2009) - The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series is heading to Primm , Nevada for the final event weekend of the series. With all of the expected excitement, there is little doubt the focus will be on Team ReadyLift® Racing’s Rob Naughton who is looking to regain his championship form and take the coveted 2009 Unlimited Lite Championship honors. Rob has 6 wins in 10 races but unfortunately mechanical failure in the last 3 races has left him 3rd in the points behind Brian Deegan and Chris Brandt.
Rob won the first four races of the inaugural Lucas Oil Series while making a bold statement through his winning prowess that he would be the one to beat in 2009. And if it wasn’t for the mechanical failures in the later rounds, Rob would be heading to Primm with a comfortable points lead. Instead Naughton will be looking to try and win his final Unlimited Lite Championship in his last weekend behind the wheel of a Unlimited Lite.
If the pressure of trying to come up with an extraordinary effort in the UL class and win the Lucas Oil Championship isn’t exciting enough, Rob will be making his own personal history in more ways than one. For the first time in his racing career Naughton will debut his new Stronghold Motorsports Unlimited Pro-2 ride courtesy of Stronghold Motorsports, Partners Pro Am Racing and Grabowski Bros. Racing.
The all-new U-2 built by Competitive Performance Fabrications was recently debuted at the recent SEMA show where it was entered in the Sony Gran Turismo competition for best Truck and SUV and was awarded the coveted first place prize. Rob plans on returning to Nevada this weekend and believe the team can be competitive in the new Unlimited Pro 2. In fact, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Team ReadyLift® Racing’s Rob Naughton muscling that new ride towards the lead. If last week’s test session at Primm is any indication of what we can expect to see this weekend, the fans are going to see a great race.
Don’t miss this exciting and memorable weekend where Rob plans on making history in more ways than one in Primm. Trying to win a Unlimited Lite Championship and racing in his first Unlimited Pro-2 all in the same weekend is something Naughton and all of his fans will definitely remember for a long time.
