Rancho Santa Margarita, California (February 17, 2006)
Catch Cameron Steele on Indie 103.1 Fm for Dickie Barrett’s Mighty Morning Show, Tuesday, February 21, 2006 from 8:30am –10:00 as he speaks about the upcoming Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250. Indie 103.1FM is also live on the Internet at http://www.indie1031.fm/listenlive.php
Cameron Steele will be joined by Trigger Gumm, best known for his 270 foot jump and currently hold the worlds record for the furthest jump on a motorcycle, Cameron’s father Mark “Big Daddy” Steele, a two time winner of the Baja 1000 and action spots enthusiast and all around nice guy, Wing Lam, owner the Wahoo’s Fish Tacos.
Dickie Barrett, former front man from the Mighty, Mighty Bostones and a long time supporter of action spots and now the off-road community wants to know what Cameron is planning on doing different at the San Felipe race. Cameron was able to do very well in the computerized drawing for poll positions while he plans on racing in three separate classes to celebrate his fathers 70th birthday.
"This is way too cool, to draw the first starting position in SCORE Trophy-Truck for the Tecate SCORE San Felipe 250," said Steele, who will also be racing in SCORE Lite and in Class 22. "We had our game plan in place already before the drawing and this could make it even easier to get it done. It won't be easy, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy. I am racing in Class 22 with my younger brother Grant and my best friend Trigger Gumm as a way to honor my dad (former SCORE racer Mark Steele), who will be celebrating his 70th birthday in Mexico while overseeing our chase crew. My plan is to start on the motorcycle, ride the first part of the course, then return to the start line to drive solo in SCORE Trophy-Truck. We have options, but the primary plan is to finish in SCORE Trophy-Truck and my crew will take me back to the closest access point and take over the SCORE Lite car from teammate Justin Smith."
