The duo stopped at VT to make a codriver change and a couple of gallons of fuel, Luivan headed to the Mikes Sky ranch loop leading the class, on one many water crossings of the Mikes section the #519 car shouted down but thxs to the very friendly people you always can find at the races, Luivan fixed the problems very quick, he continued his trip to one of the most technical sections of this event, after the Coyote ranch area, Luivan find a bottleneck caused by a few stuck cars in a steeply uphill, they lost like 15 minutes and his competition now was a few cars back, everybody waited for his turn to make the hill and Luivan got out of the car walked a few meters and he calculated how need to be in to make it, and when his turn comes he passed flawless. After that he worried because he looked the second place car on his back, now he gained 5 more minutes before he passed the driving wheel to Carlos Albañez who waited at Valle de la Trinidad Rm 255 for the car, at the pit the team did a great job, in less than 3 minutes they changed drivers complete checkout of his New Beetle racer and a complete fuel load, the BFGoodrich tires looked so good and Luivan never thinked about change it, Albañez left the pit area looking for a great run on his section.

Carlos and his brother Eddie navigated all his section from VT to Llano Colorado without problems, at Santo Tomas they have a 8 minute lead of the second place car, heading for the new race section from Uruapan to Km 25 their 5 Sol-Tek lights did a great job lighting his way to the finish line of the race, at 3 Hermanos where the last pit crew was relaying time splits, they send the message than #519 had a more of 30 minutes of lead and counting, when the team heard that, they went to cruise mode and finished the race before 11:00 pm Saturday night.
