Andy McMillin ready to swap paint at the
Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup IIII
San Diego, CA (July 18th, 2007) —
The SCORE Las Vegas Terrible’s Cup IIII is the most unique race within the SCORE-International series because it is a true off-road track race, instead of the usual open desert dash to the finish. This spectator-friendly event is held at the world famous Las Vegas Motor Speedway, just outside downtown Las Vegas. Terrible’s Cup pits multiple Trophy Trucks against each other, door to door, around the 1.5 mile custom-built off-road track. The racing will be held Friday and Saturday night at 7pm under the bright lights of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Nearly all of the custom designed “Chunk of Baja” course will be viewable from the grandstands in the eight thousand-seat stadium. This year’s race will be particularly competitive because it is included as part of the overall points race for the SCORE series championship.
Andy will be driving the McMillin Red Bull Trophy Truck for both days of the competition this year. The McMillin Red Bull Trophy Truck has been specifically prepped to handle the tight corners and quick speeds of this distinctive race. Andy will be starting in the fourth position on the outside of the first row, in the “four wide” start format. This will be Andy’s first time racing a Trophy Truck in a short course off-road race. Andy had this to say about the upcoming race: "I am excited to finally get a chance to do this race. I had a blast at Laughlin this year, swapping paint with Alan Pflueger and Garron Cadiente. I just got a Pro-2 truck with the intention of racing CORR, so I have been out practicing my turning and vehicle control in preparation for this race. This is a great spectator race because it allows the fans to see all the racing action. It’s really going to be exciting for all of the fans, and I’m ready to go and battle it out for a win!”
The premier Trophy Truck Class consists of twenty-one entries. Off the start, all of the racers will punch it and head for the best inside position, as passing will be difficult on such a tight course. Each class will compete in two races over the weekend, with the SCORE Trophy Trucks split into two heats. There will be a full-field semi-main event on Friday, and a main event on Saturday.
In addition to the two nights of race action, the event will also showcase the exciting Terrible’s Pit Crew Challenge at 6pm Thursday evening, under the multi-million dollar canopy on Fremont Street. The pit crew competition has Trophy Truck pit crews competing against each other for a $10,000 dollar cash prize and bragging rights, as “the fastest 4-wheel tire change in off-road racing”! Andy will be there to cheer on the McMillin Red Bull pit crew and meet fans as they seek to claim the title.
Be sure to come by the Red Bull and McMillin pits to get free autographed posters and stickers. Andy will be on hand signing autographs.
