Apple Valley, CA (September 18, 2008) — Damen and Casey Jefferies brought their #22 K&N Engineering, Pro Comp Tires, Liquid Ice sponsored Trophy Truck to the 2008 SCORE Primm 300 looking for redemption. “Coming off a frustrating day at the Baja 500, it was important for the team to have a good race today, both for our moral and to keep our championship hopes alive,” explained Damen Jefferies, driver of the #22 K&N Trophy Truck.

The team came into the race fifth in the SCORE point’s standings, 32 points out of the lead. To keep a championship in sight going into the final race, the Baja 1000, they would need to close the gap as much as possible.

The SCORE Primm course is extremely demanding on the race cars. The race course consists of four 72 mile loops of rocky, silty, and whooped out rugged terrain. To make matters worse, SCORE only allows competitors a seven hour time limit to complete the 288 mile race, leaving very little time to spare for problems such as flat tires.

Jefferies started the race in 11th position by way of random draw. “The first lap was extremely dusty, no room to pass with all the rocks, we just stayed in position until the fuel stop at the end of lap one.” At the fuel stop the team encountered its only problem of the day. The actual point that the vehicle was supposed to stop at in order for the refueling hose to reach the fuel inlet was not in the correct position. “The pit problem on lap one was very frustrating! But in the long run it gave me a lot of confidence in our truck. Four vehicles passed us during the pit; all of them were fast guys. I thought to my self, wow that is impressive for the #22 to hold off the big live axle trucks for a lap at Primm.” The Primm race course is well suited for the Trophy Trucks with a true live axle rear end in them due to the big deep inline holes.

As the race continued, Jefferies slowly moved up the leader board. Having no other problems during the race, and finishing in a very respectable forth place, a mere 17 minutes off the overall winning time. At the finish line a very delighted Jefferies climbed out of the truck, “that was the race we needed! Tightened up the points today, the 1000 is going to be interesting! I am so proud of the #22 and our team for their efforts bouncing back from the 500. Casey and Frank did a great job prepping the truck I can’t wait for Baja!”

Jefferies heads to the final race of the year, the Baja 1000 on November 21, fifth in points, now just 25 points out of the lead in the SCORE Trophy Truck standing. Jefferies Racing would like to thank all of their sponsors for their continued support: K&N Engineering, Pro Comp Tires, Liquid Ice Energy Drink, ARC Racing, Fortin Racing, TCS, King Shocks, VP Fuel, Jerico Powder Coating, Smith Optics, Alpinestars, and Slime Tire Sealant.
