New Classes for 2009 offered by The Fab School

April 28, 2009 - The Fab School is so excited about the new classes we are offering for 2009 this newsletter is to get the word out and share some details with you on what we have to offer. We are also in the process of re-vamping our website and by the end of April the new website will be up and running and it is going to be awesome!! CNC Operator Course starting May 11, 2009
This class will teach the following fundamental skills:
· G and M Codes
· Reading & Understanding Blue Prints
· Use & Understanding of Measuring Instruments
· Use & Understanding of CNC Controls
· Understanding Cartesian Coordinate System
· Proper Start-up and Shut down of CNC Machines
· Quality Control
· Job Set-up
-The Fab School has BRAND NEW state of the art HAAS CNC Mills and Lathes in a clean facility.
-Lead Instructor has over 15 years experience in machining and fabricating innovative racing products.
-Curriculum is based off of industry standards to ensure a smooth transition to the workforce.
-Class sizes are limited to 10 students.
-This course meets 13 hours a week for 4 weeks which allows students to get out in the job market fast!
4 Week Crash Course starting June 15, 2009
This class will teach the basic fundamentals of:
· Tig and Mig welding
· Tube notching
· Tube bending bending and duplicating
· Suspension
This course meets twice a week (Mondays & Wednesdays from 8 am to 3 pm) for a total of 48 hours and lasts approximately one month.
***This course does not offer job placement assistance.***
Introduction to Fabrication starting August 4, 2009
Our Introduction Class covers a variety of aspects of fabrication that include:
· Tube Bending
· Tube Notching
· Tube Cutting
· Pattern Design
· Chassis Design and Theories
· MIG and TIG welding
· Suspension Design and Theories
· Sheet Metal.
· We also train students on a Suspension Design Program called Front Suspension Geometry Pro made by Autoware.
Supplies We Provide for the Students
Each student will receive the following supplies on the first day of class: Welding Helmet, Welding Gloves, Safety Glasses, The Fab School Workbook, and a folder for notes.
Supplies Students Must Bring
Students are required to bring their own 12 foot tape measure and welding pliers.
