Rockstar Energy Racing’s Rob MacCachren & Team Ford Steve Olliges Joined by NASCAR’s Greg Biffle in Ford’s Race Raptor for 2009 BITD Henderson Desert Classic
Las Vegas, Nevada – With the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup season completed, NASCAR standout, Greg Biffle, will join off road racing champion Rob MacCachren and Team Ford CEO - Steve Olliges, in the Ford Raptor R for this weekend’s Best in the Desert Henderson Desert Classic.
Earlier this season, Biffle drove the Best in the Desert Ford Raptor race truck during prerunning activities at the BITD Terrible’s 250 at Primm race event.
Greg Biffle returns as one of the three drivers slated for action behind the wheel of the Ford Race Raptor that is prepped by MacCachren Motorsports.
Rob MacCachren has been the workhorse throughout the 2009 season as Steve Olliges has raced in two classes, Trick Truck and the Class 8000, in which the Ford race Raptor competes.
MacCachren commented, “Greg is a great racer and he demonstrated incredible truck control when he drove the race Raptor earlier this year. We are excited to have him on our team for the final race of the season.”
Greg Biffle ended the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup season 7th overall in the race for the NASCAR sprint championship.
Biffle is scheduled to start the race behind the wheel of the race truck with Rob MacCachren in the right seat. Olliges and MacCachren will then race the final two laps of the contest, while in the hunt for the BITD Class 8000 season championship.

The Ford Raptor race team trails Macrae Glass by a mere 20 points, as the season championship comes down to the final race of the year.
Rob MacCachren and his Rockstar Energy Racing team have already won one off road racing championship this season when they earned the 2009 TORC Pro 2 Championship last month.
Immediately afterwards, they put their efforts towards the final Lucas Oil season series race where MacCachren captivated the packed grandstands with an impressive Pro 2 short course victory on Sunday afternoon.
Without skipping a beat, the multi-time off road racing champion departed the Primm, Nevada short-course race track and headed for the SCORE Baja 1000 in Baja Mexico, where he raced the Rockstar Energy Drink backed – Riviera Racing #3 Trophy Truck. MacCachren put in a solid effort as he raced fast to the front, but ultimately, his race ended with an electrical failure that sidelined the Riviera Racing #3 trophy truck.
With the Best in the Desert race being held this weekend, MacCachren returns to short course racing the following weekend for the Rockstar Lucas Oil Challenge Cup race hosted in Southern California. After finishing Saturday’s Pro 2 race, MacCachren will fly to Laughlin, Nevada to race the second day of the SNORE Rage at the River event and hopefully earn another season championship in the highly competitive 1600 class.
MacCachren explained, “While many of our competitors race in one or two series, we race in five different series, totaling 30 plus races for the season. Rockstar Energy Drink gives our entire team the energy to live the active racing lifestyle we do.”
