EXCLUSIVE DIRTNEWZ PHOTOS
Riverside, California - The long awaited masterpiece designed and constructed by Porter Race Cars with direction from the Master of Metal himself, Jesse James, debuted on Tuesday in the Barstow desert.
The Chevy powered Jesse James Trophy Truck is fitted with BFGoodrich rubber, FOX Racing Shox, Lowrance GPS systems and much more. Right out of the box and into the harsh terrain of the Barstow desert the Jesse James Trophy Truck worked like a charm.
After what could be considered a brief testing session the truck was loaded on the trailer and Jesse James departed for Ensenada no doubt enroute to the Monster Energy / BFGoodrich Bash held at Wide Open Baja Tuesday evening.
James is slated for duty behind the wheel at the rugged 2006 SCORE Baja 1000 scheduled to begin on November 16, 2006 at approximately 10:30 a.m.
Performing navigation duties along with leading the Master of Metal through the paces is the one and only, Tom "Turbo Tom" Geviss. He has been part of many championship off road racing teams including the Nelson & Nelson Chevy efforts where Larry Ragland drove to multiple championships as well as co-driving the FOX Shox / Viejas Casino Class 1 with John Marking in 2004 where they captured the SCORE Class 1 Championship.
Geviss was recently selected to the Robby Gordon Motorsports Dakar Rally Team and you can expect additonal team announcements in the near future.
Stay tuned at DIRTnewz as we chase and follow Jesse James down the Baja Peninsula in this year's off road racing extravaganza. In the meantime, check out the photos taken Tuesday, November 14, 2006.
