The best-of-the-best charge in the rain
at Crandon. Johnny Greaves captured another Crandon victory
and Skyjacker's Curt LeDuc battled with Lucas Oil Champion
Carl Renezeder in the run for a chance on the podium.
The carnage was massive in the Pro-4 race as FABTECH's
Rick Huseman endo'd his blue FABTECH Pro-4 suffering an
incredible amount of damage to his truck. The FABTECH
crew will be thrashing late into the night to repair the
damage. Also suffering extensive damage was the Pro-Comp
Pro-4 driven by Marty Coyne. The front end suffered big
damage in his first run at Crandon. Racing the AMSOIL
Pro-4 was Scott Douglas and he had a very good run chasing
down LeDuc, Renezeder and Greaves until he broke a front
yoke on the front drive line putting him to the side of
the chase to the finish line.

A large field of Sportsman-2 racers have
just left the start line in a race against the weather
and a full field of raging teams. Dan Baudoux took the
lead early and hasn't looked back as he was chased by
Ross Hoek and a battle field of top teams. The pro teams
are staging very soon and the weather looks incredibly
bad as rain is starting to fall at the track.
1:00 P.M Fox Racing Shox Update
The threatening weather is the buzz as the

The first practice of the weekend is completed
and if it's a precursor to the wild action to come you
can expect today's action to be off the hook.
In the Pro-2 Class Carl Renezeder had problems
off the start line potentially an ignition issue that
put him on the strap back to the pits after limping around
for one lap. However, that didn't stop him in the Pro-4
Class practice as Renezeder put his truck through the
paces at top speed having no issues for his three lap
run.
Also having problems was Scott Taylor in
his Pro-2 who drove off the track after an initial lap.
Flying through the Crandon bumps was the
Pro-4 Monster Energy sponsored driver - Jerry Whelchel.
The shiny black Pro-4 set the dirt on fire with his BFGoodrich
rubber and you can be sure Whelchel will be charging hard
in his run for victory later this afternoon.
Pro-2 Chula Vista winner - Todd LeDuc told
us, "I had a great practice and this is going to
be a great competitive race," smiling the entire
time.
In the Pro-Lite division, Jeff Kincaid,
Chad Hord and Lee O'Donnell demonstrated why they are
the top dogs in the very competitive class. A big group
of Crandon rookies all from the West Coast looked tentative
here in their first practice at Crandon.
Viejas Casino/FOX Racing Shox racer - John
Marking commented, "The track is great. This is the
first time for us to be racing on this track so we're
taking it easy in this first run."
DirtNewz staffer Brittany Sanchez caught
up with CORR Champion - Curt LeDuc and Crandon rookie
- Travis Coyne after their practice sessions.

9:00 A.M. Fox Racing Shox Update
The stream of fans pulling into the camping
area of the Crandon International Raceway continued well
past 2:00 a.m. As first light wakened thousands of fans,
as well as over 300 race teams set up in the pits of the
raceway, it appeared that the incredible weather of the
past few days would continue. Although that changed in
only fifteen minutes as heavy dark clouds rolled in over
the top of the race track and started spewing precipitation.
The rain only lasted 30 minutes but the
weather front is darkening in the west and forecasters
are predicting heavy thunderstorms.
CORR Racing will go on here in Crandon,
Wisconsin, rain, sleet or snow in the deep mud.
DirtNewz caught up with the CORR Pro-Lite
racer, Robert Naughton and talked to him about his strategy
for today's race.
