Parker, Arizona (February 3, 2006) Contingency
continues to roll strong here at the Blue Water Resort &
Casino with many vehicles yet to get by the Fox Racing Shox
& DirtNewz trailer set on the first row of contingency.
Robbie Gordon's H3 Hummer is still in line
awaiting technical inspection on the shores of the Colorado
River. Although many fans have left contingency, many are
still roaming around sipping icy cold beers being served at
contingency row.
Two big draws today at contingency was the
NAVY fighter pilot simulator and the beer stand, both of which
have had long lines all day long. Many vendors and exhibitors
continue to hold on here on the shore of the river as the
sun sets across the Arizona desert.
BITD Officials have provided us with an
official count as of 5:00 p.m. of 189 official competitors
registered to race as of 5:00 p.m.
The big fiesta of the night is about to
go off as SMD Motorsports is hosting an extravangza. Also,
Jones Motorsports is pushing a big party that is suppose to
begin in a few minutes and finish up before the middle of
the night.
Parker 425 Contingency Goes Wild at Blue Water
Resort
Parker, Arizona (February 3, 2006)
The nation’s top off road racers lined up early this morning at the Blue Water Resort and Casino parking lot awaiting the opening of BITD Parker 425 Tech & Contingency.
First in line was the #4 Mexicana Logistics Trophy Truck owned by Gustavo Vildosola who co-drives with the legend in the desert – Rob MacCachren.
Rob MacCachren had the fastest time of the Trick Truck time trials and was only beat out by Class 1500 John Herder driving his Jimco-built super fast machine.
Contingency is wild today and the crowds are big in the river side city of Parker, Arizona.
One of the big stories here in contingency is, of course, Honda’s Steve Hengeveld, the 1X multiple Baja 1000 winner, driving the Jones Motorsports #76 Trick Truck with 1X partner Mike Childress while the BITD Trick Truck Champion-Jesse Jones, drives his #1 Geiser Trick Truck.
In yesterday’s time trials Hengeveld & Childress finished 11th in class and 25th overall.
Today they are stickering up the Jones Motorsports #76 Trick Truck with direction from Jones Motorsports Crew Chief – Jerry French.
Andy McMillin arrived to contingency in the McMillin Homes #83 Trick Truck ready to race in his first-ever Parker 425 race. DirtNewz.com’s own – Brittany Sanchez caught up with McMillin at contingency.
Andy McMillin interview:
As contingency continues we’ll be bringing it to you from the parking lot of the Blue Water Resort & Casino.
