Fox Racing Shox 6:46 pm Update

Tim Herbst drove the Terrible Herbst truggy through the most difficult course in Southern Nevada to put Troy Herbst and the entire Terrible Herbst Motorsports family on the podium with a victory once again. Troy Herbst who suffered an achilles tendon injury approximately two months ago was able to drive the Class 1 across the line after Roeseler put the truggy in position for the win.

Finishing in second place is the TSCO Class 1 car driven by Gary Weyrich. Weyrich finished first physically across the line, however the Herbst Truggy started in 22 position some 12 positions behind the Weyrichs.

Bob Shepard ran his Geiser-buitl trophy truck to victory here in the Southern Nevada desert on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Shepard drove the entire race (ironman style) and had the Geiser Brothers race support crew on hand performing pit support duties.

Led by Rick Geiser, the support crew performed flawlessly all day long to put the reigning 2005 SCORE Trophy Truck Champion on the podium once again. At the finish line, Shepard waved his hands celebrating his victory.

Finishing physically in second position was Pistol Pete Sohren driving the Speedway three seat trophy truck. The sun has set here in the Nevada desert as the first trophy trucks have just arrived to the finish line in what racers have described as "one hell of a tough race course."

Bob Shepard took over the lead when Brian Collins broke at RM 4 on the last lap. Shepard came through Pit B in first with Carl Renezeder close behind. Carl was followed by "Pistol Pete" Sohren. It will be a fight to the finish for this trio.

Nick Vandeway claims Class 8 honors after beating Dave Raimonde in a close battle to the finish.

Steven Looney driving the #1501 Sportsmans Truck is the WINNER in Class 1500. He was followed by Shannon Dieckop driving the #1503 Sportman's Truck. Looney is the first official finisher of the Group B this afternoon.

Larry Roeseler driving the Terrible Herbst Truggy leads on corrected time over Gary Weyrich. The Herbst Truggy started the race in 22nd position of the 45 Class 1's that began the race. The split time at the start/finish was two minutes between the Herbst Truggy and Weyrich.

The first trophy trucks have just come through the main pits and leading the charge is the # 12 of Brian Collins/Larry Ragland. Here's your running order. This is physical position through the start finish line as they start the final lap.

SCORE Trophy Truck Champion, Bob Shepard, started second to last and has the lead on corrected time.

The #7 FABTECH/Toyo Tires Trophy Truck is having alternator/battery issues and is stopped dealing with the issues.

#97 B.J. Baldwin through the start finish line as he continues his charge towards the finish line.

The #96 Baldwin Motorsports Trophy Truck driven by Bobby Baldwin suffered a broken ring and pinion at race mile 67 at the end of his second lap. Repaired and now rolling again Bobby Baldwin has just crossed the start/finish line heading out on his third lap. Also across the line is the #39 of G&R Racing - Ron Whitton followed by the badly damaged # 19 Terrible Herbst Trophy Truck. Ed Herbst, driving the #19 truck when it rolled hard at race mile five is driving the battered and beaten Mike Smith built Trophy Truck.

• Ragland is set to be the backup driver for Brian Collins, the plan is that Brian wil solo this race but Ragland is suited up in the pits just in case Brian needs to get out.

Fox Racing Shox 3:45 pm Update


• Ron Whitton in the #39 G&R Racing Trophy Truck is reported to have a broken wheel & roder at RM 37. “Smitty” is out of the truck changing it now.
• Curt Leduc, who usually drives with Mark Post in the #3 Riviera Racing Truck is all suited up as the back up driver for Bobby Baldwin. Post isn’t racing due to a volleyball injury.
• Bobby Baldwin is at RM 67 with a blown ring and pinion. Curt may have the chance to drive once they get the truck fixed.

• #102 – Mark Peterson broken and out of the race at RM 45.
• #106 – Kash Vessels was reported earlier out of the race at Pit B, but is now back in the race.

• #28 Alan Pflueger just finished his first lap. It’s been reported that he shattered his back wheel and had to have it replaced at Pit C, which took some time. The crew was told to “get out the lightbar, it’s going to be a long night.”

• Cameron Steele nurfed Huffman hard, the spare tire flew off & the cage cased in.
• Huffman out of the race after his truck caught on fire after getting nurfed.
• 137 & 144 both rolled at RM 5, severe damage caused them both to be out of the race.
• #121 Bart Yochheim out of the race at RM 44.5.

Clyde Stout out of the race in his #13 Trophy Truck, word is that he broke the crank. The fly wheel is spinning.
861 is late to the start but still goes off the line.

All Trophy Trucks are off the line aas Class 1's, Pro-Trucks and more continue to see the Green Flag.
Already action on the course as the #38 of Garron Cadiente is on the side of the course with a broken brake assembly. It looks like the bolt that holds the brake pedal broke and Garron is currently out of the car working on it himself.

The Trophy Trucks and Class 1's are staging as we speak. They will go off the line at 1:00pm. The first Truck off the line will be young gun Garron Cadiente.

The first finishers across the finishline are The All American Girls Racing Team capturing their first victory in Class 1400 *sportsman car.

Adam Pfankuch leading 1600's by only seconds. With one lap to go Adam came through the start finish only seconds in front of Burgess.
In Class 5-1600 Ledezema is leading Nunez by 1 point with one lap to go.

Hardesty has a 7 minutes lead on everyone in his class.
#1648 pulled off the track at the start/finish, they are out of the race with one lap to go.

We just left the DA pit, Cameron brough "Pinky" back to the start/finish in prime condition for Bean to get in and finish the race.
Cameron said that the course was really rocky and we also spoke with his wife Heidi, who just got out of her 7SX truck. Heidi said that the course is so chewed up, it's like San Felipe, the woops are so bad they are all squared off.

#1204 - Vic Bruckman right on Sacks tail. It's a race for the lead in Class 12.

#1211 - Ken Stroud reported out at Pit C.
#1013 - Adam & Becky Wik just through in 7th position. They are moving through the paces picking off cars left and right. This is Becky's first race since having her baby in April.

FOX Racing Shox 8:58 am Update

Darren Hardesty just through start/finish.
Desert Assassin's Heidi Steele just through & starting her second lap.
All 7S & 7SX have completed their first lap, the attrition hasn't been as bad as it was last year.
Trophy Trucks are beginning to stage even though they will not go off the line until 1pm.
Brian Collins, Bobby Baldwin and BJ Baldwin are the first Trophy Trucks to arrive here at the start/finish.

FOX Racing Shox 8:48 am Update

Matt Kupiec #1403 of Palis Verdes is leading with one lap to go.
All-American Girls (Heather Bonnani, Robyn Gordon, Beccy Gordon and Kate Sutton) just finished their first lap and have one more to go. Sportsman car's only have to complete 2 laps in this race.
#739 Nick Moncure is the first 7S truck to finish his first lap.

FOX Racing Shox 8:36 am Update

The 749 truck of John Holmes is leading Class 7SX.
Jeff Lloyd in his Horizon Real Estate #743 seems to be missing some panels but is right behind Homes and running strong.
Dan Street running about 1 minute behind Lloyd physically in third place.

FOX Racing Shox 8:00 am Update

The first group of racers are just finishing their first lap. John Cooley in his #1000 Alumicraft Class 10 was the first Class 10 to come through start/finish.
David Bonner is leading in Class 5/1600, with George Seeley about 20 minutes behind him.
The dry lake bed is in it's usual conditions, hot, dry and full of dust storms.
