G&R Racing To Campaign Two Trophy Trucks At The 40th Anniversary SCORE Baja 1000

With a three-race winning streak under their belts, the G&R team of Ron Whitton and Garron Cadiente are set to battle for podium spots at the prestigious SCORE Baja 1000. The team will be running both the #38 and #39 Trophy Trucks for the legendary race. This year’s SCORE Baja 1000 marks the 40th anniversary of brutal 1,296 mile marathon down the Baja peninsula, and features an all you can eat buffet of sand washes, high-speed graded roads, technical cutbacks, silt beds, and many more natural and man-made obstacles.

Cadiente’s #38 Trophy Truck will debut a new paint job, featuring a black base with the red and gold Rockstar Energy Drink logos. Cadiente is the first Trophy Truck off the line, giving him a potential advantage over his competitors. He will be starting the race, and splitting driving duties with second-generation off-road racer Todd LeDuc. Whitton will be sharing his driving duties with Todd’s father, off-road legend Curt LeDuc.

Cadiente had this to say about the upcoming challenge, “I think we are a serious threat for the win. There are a lot of talented drivers this year but we have done our pre-running and I feel confidant in our Geiser-built Trophy Trucks. We have the most dedicated and professional team or mechanics and technicians in the sport, ready to help us if we need it. It is going to be a long race and anything can happen. My plan is to try and stay in front and out of other racers dust. I want to hand it to Todd LeDuc in first, and finish in first!”

“People counted us out last year and we finished 3rd!” commented Ron Whitton. “This year I have one of my driving heroes, Curt LeDuc driving with me. We had a blast pre-running and are well prepared for the challenge ahead. It’s going to be long and tough but with any luck we will be standing on the podium!” Ron Whitton finished 3rd in the Trophy Truck division at last years SCORE Baja 1000, making him a very serious contender for a podium spot.
