CORONA, Calif., (Nov. 9, 2007) - Monster Energy-backed NASCAR racer Robby Gordon returns to his roots this weekend when the all-time off road legend gets back behind the wheel of a Trophy Truck for the 40th running of the legendary SCORE International Tecate Baja 1,000 - an all-out burner from Ensenada down to Cabo San Lucas on Mexico's Baja California Peninsula.

This year's Baja 1,000 marks Gordon's 22nd year of racing the off road
classic, considered by many to be the Western Hemisphere's premier off road event.

"I'm pumped for this year's Baja 1,000 and starting in 4th place gives
us a great opportunity to get out in front and run in the clear air right
from the start," said Gordon. "And I'm looking forward to bringing home
another win for Monster Energy!"

Gordon first challenged the rugged Baja course in 1987 as a co-pilot in
a winning cause with his father, Bob "Baja" Gordon. Since then Gordon
has racked up three Baja 1,000 titles, including last year's overall championship. In addition, Gordon has won the Baja 500 three times as
well (1990, '98 & '05).
