#3 Riviera Mark Post leading at RM1080 with a 6 minute lead over Vildosola.

Cadiente has a broken ring and pinion at RM920.

The dominating team of Honda's Steve Hengeveld, Robby Bell, Johnny Campbell and Kendall Norman riding a CRF450X finished with another comanding lead. As of right now at 7:45AM the second bike which is expected to be veteran rider 14X Tim Morton has not arrived at the finishline.

Campbell captures his 10th Baja 1000 overall victory on a motorcycle. This is Hengeveld's 7th.

#38 Cadiente is back up and running in 4th.

Unofficially second across the line is Juan Jose Gonzales from Los Cabos riding a 6 year old colt with a rooster for a co-driver. His stub can was empty.

Todd Leduc took over the driving duties in the #38 Rockstar Energy/ G&R Racing Trophy Truck and is pulling away from the rest of the pack, currently at RM 810.

#4 Gus Vildolsola approximately 35 miles behind Cadiente.

#3 Post/ MacCachren/ Renezeder are still mixing it up with the leaders.

#1 BJ Baldwin is running but off the pace.

Report from Riviera Baja Fools pit south of LA Bay- #3 Riviera TT had a fast pit, no issues. Renezeder is hauling the mail and gaining. 13 minutes behind Cadiente. 10 minutes behind BJ Baldwin. The Truggy is 5 minutes behind the #3. Rob Mac getting in #3 at Abreojos turnoff on Hwy 1 where he will take it to Loreto for the handoff to Mark Post.

#38 Garron Cadiente has regained his lead over BJ Baldwin and is now in clean air heading to LA Bay.

#3 Riviera TT still in the hunt in 3rd. Vildosola in the mix.

The Truggy still leading class1 is approx. 15 miles back.

#19 Herbst TT is charging hard at RM477.

The #76 TT of Jesse Jones is off the pace at RM194.

#3 Riviera Trophy Truck is 7 minutes behind the current leader BJ Baldwin. Carl Renezeder and Co-driver Oren Anderson took over at RM368.

BJ Baldwin has passed Cadiente and is at approx. RM390 with Cadiente 4 miles behind.

#85 Todd Wylie is off the course, stuck on the side of a steep hill at RM233. No other racers are assisting. The chase crew is heading north from LA Bay to access the course at Santo Domingo to assist.

#39 Ron Whitton is having mechanical issues. He is limping to the highway at RM90.

Wally Dallenbach driving the #76 Jesse Jones truck is experiencing unknown issues at RM83.

The #19 Herbst TT had to change out a damaged front shock after heavy contact with the pink Caddy of Cameron Steele.

The Herbst Truggy still leads the class 1 field and is through RM369 with #19 approx. 30 miles behind.

Robby Gordon is still charging at RM348.

BJ Baldwin and Garron Cadiente are in a tight battle for the lead in four wheel vehicles. The leaders cleared check 3 at RM 306.2 at about 6PM. The Herbst Truggy is in the chase not far behind and is the class 1 leader.

#1248 Rick Graf and #1205 Jeff Kawell passed RM202 after #800.

#3 Riviera Trophy Truck catches fire apparently from an alternator issue. Repairs made and they are back on course. 2 minutes lost.

The leaders in the four wheel classes are through RM 202 at Santo Domingo. In this order: Garron Cadiente, Mark Post, BJ Baldwin, Larry Ragland, Cameron Steele, Robby Gordon, Gus Vildosola, Troy Herbst Class 1, Bob Shepherd, Damen Jeffries, BJ Richardson Clsss 1, Todd Wylie, Roger Norman, David Scaroni, Pistol Pete.

The crashed helicopter is not the SCORE Opps chopper as reported earlier. Monica Jackson from SCORE confirmed this with us. She has been in contact with all SCORE opps choppers.

Robby Bell is leading the second place bike of 14X Tim Morton by 15 minutes. Bell handed the 1X bike off to the second rider at RM 375 at approx. 2:40PM. 9X Quinn Cody is sidelined temporarily with mechanical issues.

The lead 1/2 1600 buggies of 1613 Edgar Avalos and 1603 Victor Barreda with an impressive start clearing checkpoint 1 at 1:52PM and 1:53PM respectively. 1612 following in 3rd clears checkpoint 1 at 1:56PM.

TT #38 Garron Cadiente still in the lead overall for four wheel vehicles passing through Mike's Sky Ranch at approx. 1:35PM. TT #3 Mark Post still holding onto the second position right behind Cadiente.

Nick Vanderwey piloting the #800 got milk? Chevy Silverado class 8 truck leads the class passing through checkpoint 1 at approx 1:30PM.

The lead class 10 car is #1003 Matt Cullen driving a VW powered Alumi Craft makes it through checkpoint 1 at approx. 1:16PM

G&R Racing's #38 Garron Cadiente was first off the line at 10:45AM and continues to hold his lead through checkpoint 1 at approximately 12:35PM. Mark Post in the #3 Riviera Racing Trophy Truck cleared checkpoint 1 behind Cadiente by about two minutes and is closing in. #12 Larry Ragland making up a few spots clears checkpoint 1 at about 12:39PM.

The lead class 1 vehicles are through checkpoint 1. Larry Roeseler driving the #100 Terrible Herbst Truggy through at 12:52PM followed closely by #103 BJ Richardson.

The first four wheel vehicles are off the starting line at 10:45AM lead by G&R Racing's Trophy Truck driver Garron Cadiente.

On Garron's heels are 28 Alan Pflueger, #3 Riviera Racing's Mark Post and Monster Energy's #71 Robby Gordon.

DirtNewz staff on location at the Coral Marina Resort in Ensenada reports that Trophy Truck driver BJ Baldwin is suffering from the flu. Baldwin has been taking heavy doses of Airborne and lots of fluids.

"I'm feeling really under the weather and have been taking a lot of fluids. I still plan on starting off the line." - commented BJ Baldwin.

Other drivers on location incude the Herbsts, Ryan Arciero, Alan Pflueger, and Brian Collins with his new Dodge Mopar Trophy Truck. All are suited up and ready to go.

Currently 2006 champions Team Honda 1X are in the lead. 1X Robby Bell passed through checkpoint 1 which is race mile 85 at approximately 8:15AM PST with a three minute lead over 9X Quinn Cody.
