Mark Miller in the VW Race Touarag was 9th vehicle on the road at Santo Tomas. DirtNewz staff on the scene report that the Touarag was by far the fastest up the shortcut hill cimb north of Santo Tomas. No Class 1s were close to him.

7:35 PM Baja 500 Update

Robby Gordon driving the #71 Trophy Truck just crossed the finish line at 19:18. That should make him the current overall leader on corrected time.

BJ Baldwin was leading on time coming into Ensenada. Knowing Gordon was on his heels he pushed too hard and crashed, rolling his truck giving Gordon the lead on time by 2 and a half minutes.

Wayne Matlock's team reporting they had an 11 minute lead over 1A at Erindera when rider Wes Miller went off a cliff and broke his lower leg. Miller straightened his leg out and rode 50 miles to Santo Tomas shifting with his left hand. Miller's efforts earned his team a second place finish and the tough guy award.
