Lancaster, CALIFORNIA - The action was intense here today as the 2007 CORR season kicked off at Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster, California.
Rob MacCachren returned to CORR full-time racing action as he battled with the best to take the pole position for Saturday's season opener. Rob Mac has not raced a full CORR season in over five years and tomorrow's race will mark the first race of his expected triumphant return.
Johnny Greaves drove the #22 Monster / Potawatomi Forest County / Toyota Tundra to the overall fastest qualifying run over Rick Huseman, Carl Renezeder and Scott Douglas to name a few.
Curt LeDuc and Kyle LeDuc did not show up for Friday's Qualifying, but Todd LeDuc and his sister, Valerie LeDuc, both ran qualifying in Pro-2 and Pro-Lite respectively. Curt and Kyle are expected to arrive early Saturday morning.
The Terrible Herbst motorsports team showed up racing three Pro-4's and they all put down respectable times in the intense qualifying action here at Antelope Valley. Troy Herbst led the family of hard-core racing brothers finishing in 5th position for Saturday's big race.
CORR has built a fantastic facility here at Antelope Valley and many of the drivers, crew members and sponsors are beaming with the set up of the track, pit and midway areas here at the fairgrounds. CORR COO - Cissy Baldwin and her crew have worked tirelessly over the past month working towards this weekend's big season-opener.
Thousands of fans from across Southern California are expected to arrive to the fairgrounds Saturday for what is should be an incredible battle of off road racing warriors.
