CORR Los Angeles Event Coverage - Photo Gallery - Video Interviews

Pomona, Calif., (May 21, 2007) – The color "Monster" green dominated the podium on CORR's final day at the Los Angeles Fairplex in Pomona. The day was led by CORR Pro 4 Champion, Johnny Greaves, the multi-time CORR Champion, who wheeled his way to another impressive victory over a loaded field of talented racers. Johnny put his #22 Toyota/Potowatomi/Monster Energy/ sponsored truck in the winner's circle for the third time this season after winning the inaugural Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup Race from the last starting position.

Greaves top-rated performance was followed up by a spectacular race that stunned the huge crowds all crammed into the grandstands at Pomona. The Monster Energy/Wide Open Baja/BFGoodrich sponsored Pro 2 race truck driven by Jerry Whelchel not only excited the crowd, but his come from behind victory impressed even those that have watched Whelchel race for the past 20 years. Whelchel withstood the initial onslaught of carnage through the first couple laps and then blasted his way through the field like he was dodging land mines.

Whelchel's victory, right on the heels of Johnny Greaves epic win, put both Monster Energy sponsored drivers in the winner's circle. After each race both drivers stood on the roofs of their trucks spraying Monster Energy drink among the winner's circle.

Monster Energy sponsored racer, Rick Huseman, drove his FABTECH / Toyo Tires Pro 2 to the podium on both Saturday and Sunday capturing 2nd place in the ever-so competitive Pro 4 field of the nation's top racers.

Monster Energy sponsored Pro Lite racer, Rodrigo Ampudia, represented the Monster Energy Claw in the huge Pro Lite field by capturing 2nd place after a hard fought race that saw positions change throughout the top five numerous times.

The Monster Energy Army was out in force at the biggest off road racing event of the 2007 season kicked off in the middle of Southern California. It was Monster Energy everywhere and in the end it was Monster Madness in the winner's circle of the two biggest races of the 2007 CORR season.

Naughton Over Ampudia...AGAIN! LeDuc Discusses Race Tactics with Naughton at Finish

Los Angeles , Calif., (May 21, 2007) –The Pro Lite race was spectacular as Rob Naughton patiently waited for the field to clear after the confusing mandatory yellow slowed the field to a crawl and the CORR flagman mis-flagged the start resulting in a huge pile up on the front stretch that took two trucks out of the competition. Naughton had to strategize with the competition through the four laps while under yellow. However, finally when the green flag dropped, Naughton cut inside and was blocked by Casey Currie and then went to the right and got around Currie before he had the chance to bang on the door of Kyle LeDuc pushing him into the wall of the first turn. Once Naughton got to the front he never looked back and ran for the checkers untouched.

At the podium, Kyle LeDuc had words with Rob Naughton, obviously not happy with something that happen on the track. LeDuc approached Naughton and unbuckled his window net and acknowledged him with words and hand gestures.

LeDuc ended up breaking a suspension component and although he finished the race, he was out of the top three.
