Chula Vista , Calif., (June 11, 2007) –The Pro 4 finale was wild and when the dust cleared it was Carl Renezeder who emerged the big winner. The start was black flagged when Josh Baldwin had very slight contact with Johnny Greaves resulting in Baldwin spinning and getting high-centered on the inside of turn one. The race was restarted and Josh Baldwin restarted in the front position and as the trucks raced into turn two Baldwin slid up and jacked Greaves into the outside berm resulting in Greaves suffering race ending damage to his race truck. With Greaves out the battle continued, but Cenni then suffered a race ending mechanical failure and the field dwindled. When the race finally restarted there were only six trucks left including the Pro Comp Pro 4 raced by Travis Coyne. Coyne ran strong in the latter half of the race as he chased the leader, Carl Renezeder, and in the end Renezeder held off all challengers to take the victory.
The wild action this weekend was incredible as the nation's top racers all vied for the top spot. Renezeder captured 5 of 6 races over two full days of racing and this weekend was definitely the Renezeder Sweep!
Rob MacCachren Drives Riviera Racing Super Buggy to Dominate WIN
Chula Vista , Calif., (June 10, 2007) –Rob MacCachren pushed his jet black Riviera Racing Super Buggy to an impressive victory here at The Rock late Sunday afternoon. MacCachren is driving in the Red Bull Pro 2 truck and recently finished his new AlumiCraft-built Super Buggy race. Racing wire-to-wire the veteran past CORR Champion was no match for the competition as he ran away from the field. Riviera Racing Team Owner - Mark Post was on hand with his son Max Post taking in the 2007 CORR Rounds 6 at The Rock! Post and MacCachren are the winningest off road desert racers of the 2007 season thus far capturing victory in three of the first five races. Could it be that CORR Championship Off Road Racing will see a jet black Riviera Racing Pro Truck in the near future?
Robert Naughton Takes Schampa / Maxxis Pro Lite To Victory
Chula Vista , Calif., (June 10, 2007) –Robert "The Fig" Naughton railed his Schampa/Maxxis Pro Lite to a huge victory over Rodrigo Ampudia, Casey Currie, Josh Hintz, Jeff Geister and perhaps his new nemesis, Jeff Huseman on Sunday afternoon. Noticably absent was Rockstar sponsored racer - Kyle LeDuc who was nowhere to be seen in his normal race truck. LeDuc apparently started the race in his sisters old school Pro Lite in order to obtain the maximum amount of points for the season series point's championship.
The actual best race in the Pro Lite field was between Jeff Geiser and Mexico's Rodrigo Ampudia as they battled for 7 laps towards the end of the race. They exchanged positions no less than six or seven times before Ampudia took the lead and finished in front Geiser.
The victory by Robert Naughton will tightened up the series point's race between Rodrigo Ampudia, Robert Naughton and Kyle LeDuc. Official results later tonight.
Renezeder WILD Race Over Ricky Johnson in CORR Pro 2 Round 6 - LeDuc Over Jeremy McGrath for Third Position
Chula Vista , Calif., (June 10, 2007) – In perhaps the best race of the weekend so far, Carl Renezeder and Ricky Johnson put on a display of wild moves as the CORR Race Nation was entertained beyond belief. It just doesn't get any better than today's Pro 2 race. The first 7 laps of the race were not as entertaining as final run where Ricky Johnson cut inside of Carl Renezeder several times taking position, but then losing position only a couple turns later where Carl cleanly past Ricky back for the lead. Todd LeDuc ran hard in third position, but the entertainment was all between Johnson and Renezeder for all the marbles. This weekend has been the Carl Renezeder Show as he continues to fall more in love with this Chula Vista race course than ever before.
Renezeder DRIVES Wild to Capture Jason Baldwin Pro 4 Memorial Cup Race
Chula Vista , Calif., (June 10, 2007) – Carl Renezeder faced the nation's top racers in what was a great battle between some of the biggest names in Championship Off Road Racing. Greaves, Douglas, Cenni and Coyne all faded from the competition as Renezeder charged to the front in front of Troy Herbst and Steve Barlow. Troy Herbst drove the #19 race truck as hard as he coule in search of a podium finish and it paid off as many of the field bashed with the competition on the way to the finish line. Johnny Greaves driving the Monster Energy / Toyota Pro 4 got tangled up with a group of trucks that included Adrian Cenni and Rick Huseman who sandwiched Greaves in between them and that was all she had for the #22 Pro 4. Greaves pulled off the course as Huseman and Cenni also suffered truck damage. Adrian Cenni lost his right front a-arm and spindle while Huseman was able to limp around the race course to the finish line.
Carl Renezeder, driving his so-called old Pro 4, railed the track here at Chula Vista saying, " The old truck does not want to go into retirement. The new truck is nearly complete, but this one does not want to go into the garage."
