8:30pm - Finish - #35 Mastercraft Trophy Truck of Robbie Pierce finishes the grueling race. After what looked like a run-away day, Pierce experienced some difficulties and co-driver Joey Westhoff settles for a 6th place instead a back-to-back coming off his 1-2 1600 win last weekend.
8:23pm - RM285 - #38 Garron Cadiente still moving on the course. Early reports said he was out, looks like he is still running according to IONEARTH tracking.
7:05pm - Cross the finish: #97 BJ Baldwin (Wins by 7 seconds), #1 Mark Post/Rob MacCachren (Physical first finisher), #12 Brian Collins/Chuck Hovey
6:42pm - #54 - Jesse James the West Coast Chopper celebrity blows the motor ending what started as a pretty good day. Jesse James is geting accustomed to finshes like this, maybe some good luck will come his way for the SCORE Baja 1000.
6:24pm Update - RM423 - It's a battle down to the wire! The #1 Post/MacCachren Monarch/Rockstar/Makita TT is weeving through the hills trying to create as much dust as possible because the #97 BJ Baldwin Chevy has been creeping closer and closer. This could be decided by the time clock!

5:37pm - RM 375 has multiple Trophy Trucks slowed. #8 Norman/Roeseler Ford F-150, #39 Whitten/Leduc and #84 Nick Vanderway/Curt Leduc Chevy Silverado.
5:34pm - Rob MacCachren piloting the Riviera Racing Monarch/Rockstar/Makita trophy truck leads #97 BJ Baldwin 1:12 physically. Looks like BJ is making some time on one of the winningest drivers in motorsports.

in the #12 Team Mopar Dodge Ram 1500
has been pushing hard to make a move
on the 1-2 positions but gaining the
necessary time has been tough. They
sit in third position aproximately 5
miles back of the leaders.

4:50pm - The lead is stretching, #1 Ford powered Monarch/Rockstar/Makita is 1 minute 34 second physical lead on the #97 trophy truck of BJ Baldwin. That could be enough to take the gold medal.

4:43pm - #1 Mark Post/ Rob MacCachren TT leads #97 by 25 seconds, but a one minute lead is needed to take the gold. #97 Chevy of BJ is pitting for fuel now, will that take BJ's chances away? We'll see...
4:36pm - RM357 - Reports have the #1 Monarch/RockStar/Makita Ford trophy truck stretching a lead to 30 seconds on the #97 Chevy of BJ Baldwin.
4:29pm - LEADER SWAP, it's Riviera Racing now! - Rob MacCachren catches BJ Baldwin after the flat tire! Rob MacCachren gets passed by BJ again, but Rob MacCachren passes him again! Riviera Racing Monarch/Rockstar/Makita Trophy Truck leads the Baja 500!
4:27pm - Dirtnewz takes a second to snap a photo of the reason we can get you the best information on the leaders, but even the newz chopper needs fuel!


4:25pm - #8 Crystal Bay
Casino Norman/Roeseler falls to 4th
place to #12 of Brian Collins after
a few minute stop.

4:15pm - #35 Robbie Pierce and pole sitter of the 40th SCORE Baja 500 has suffered unknown problems. They have limped into the BFGoodrich Pit 2, fixed their problems and now race around RM270, but hopes of the victory in the Trophy Truck class have been shattered.
4:10pm - RM337 - #97 BJ Baldwin leads
4:05pm - It's heating up! - #97 Bj Baldwin gets a flat tire in his Chevy TT, and Rob MacCachren in the #1 black stallion is right on his tail! We are told that Rob Mac needs to stop for fuel in a few miles.

4:03pm -#109 Luis Ramirez Jr. continues to lead the unlimited class one field.
3:56pm - RM319 - Rob MacCachren piloting the #1 Monarch Resorts/RockStar/Makita trophy truck races along the pacific coast, according to tracking devices, he could be making up some time on the #97 of BJ Baldwin, stay tuned!

#38 Garron Cadiente is out, but teammate #39 of Ron Whitton and Todd Leduc race on.
3:48pm - RM211 - During the first string of pit stops at RM211, CORR Pro-2 racer and longtime desert racer ,Todd Leduc, stood anxiously waiting for the #39 G&R Racing TT of Ron Whitten. #39 was running in the top 5 for the first half of the race but fell of pace. They now continue at aproximately RM232.
3:45pm - Dirtnewz Notes - It was reported that on of race UTV's counted over 75 broken or stuck race cars from the starting line to only RM55! Rugged!
3:38pm - RM295 - #97 BJ Baldwn continues to blister the pace as he stretched his lead to 5:33 minutes over the hard pressing Rob MacCachren in the #1 trophy truck.

3:35pm - RM114 - After reports of the #2 Pistol Pete Trophy Truck having gone over a cliff, information was updated and they are working on the truck at RM114.
3:28pm - RM262 - #109 Luis Ramirez Jr. in his HMS-Chevy come through first in class one with the #108 BMW-Jimco of Armin Schwarz in a close second position.
3:20pm - Dirtnewz staffers

in every corner.

can to catch up to the blistering pace

#97 BJ leads by 3:09 and Roeseler in
the #8 TT races in third 2:20 minutes
behind the #1 Monarch/Rockstar/Makita
TT.

3:15pm - #122 Rick Ellison in his Porter-Chevy sit at RM205 with some apparent damage. Their crew is on it's way with a welder.
2:50pm - Dirtnewz.com Exclusive - When Mark Post jumped out of the race truck at RM211, one of the Dirtnewz field reporters had the opportunity to ask him how things were going. Post was super excited to be in the top three after suffering 3 flat tires through a treacherous rock ridden course. Post said "We lucked out, each flat tire we had was right next to one of our pits, so they busted out the Makita Power Tools, and swapped those BFG tires in no-time!"

#8 Roger Norman/Larry Roeseler - Roeseler is a Multi-time winner of the SCORE Baja 500.
2:45pm - #1 Mark Post/Rob MacCachren are through RM260, 2 minutes behind the #97 BJ Baldwin TT, but the #8 Crystal Bay Casino Trophy Truck of Larry Roeseler is only 3 minutes back of the second place position.Looking at the "actaul times" the #8 TT could be leading the Trophy Truck class.
2:40pm - 1X HONDA of Robby Bell/Kendall Norman/Johnny Campbell lead at RM425 while the HONDA 8X team of Ryan Penhall/Brent Harden/Mike Childress follow in second place, but with reports of 8X having a possible broken arm.

2:30pm - RM220 - It appears that the SCORE San Felipe 250 winners, #108 Armin Schwarz/Martin Christensen Jimco-BMW lead class one with the Las Vegas Dissemination #107 of Pat Dean close behind.
2:25pm - #97 BJ Baldwin leads the #1 Rob MacCachren by 2 minutes through RM 235.

2:00pm - RM211 - #97 Bj Baldwin continues to lead the trophy truck class while the #1 Monarch/Rockstar/Makita TT of Mark Post makes a swift pit stop, VP Race Fuel, new BFGoodrich tires, and one of the winningest off-road drivers, Rob MacCachren, takes the wheel. the #8 Roger Norman TT driven by Larry Roeseler is in third place while the #12 Mopar powered trophy truck of Brian Collins races in fourth. Fifth place is a long way back.

rocket, where Rob MacCachren is said
to be taking the wheel.
1:04pm - RM170 - #1 Mark Post is putting his BFGoodrich tires to the test as he pulls into the pits to fix a right rear tire, the hard pressing #97 Ballistic BJ Baldwin takes the lead on in his Chevy powered BFGoodrich Trophy Truck. Brian Collins is now in thrid physical position.

12:55pm - NEW LEADER RM155 - #1 Monarch/ROCKSTAR/Makita Trophy Truck passes the Mastercraft #35 Robbie Pierce TT as they stop for a flat tire. BJ Baldwin also makes the pass by Pierce, but the lead trucks have just found themselves in a heavy field of motorcycle traffic.
12:35pm - #35 Robbie Pierce's navigator Joey Westhoff comes off a win at the M.O.R.E. 500 last weekend piloting his 1-2 1600 class race car. As it stands now, he could be a winner for the second wekend in a row. Could he be the "good luck charm?"
12:30pm - #111 Dale Lenk in the Penhall Class One is stuck and out of contention and at risk of missing checkpoints as the race goes on.
12:19pm - #1 Mark Post clears RM115 behind Robbie Pierce. Pit strategies could come into play late into the race. Robbie Pierce is said to be racing until the 300 RM, before he is relieved by a second driver. But, Rob MacCachren the ROCKSTAR Energy/Makita Power Tools phenom driver will take the wheel from Mark Post before the RM300. S,o it looks like Robbie Pierce could be in the "hot seat" while the fresh Rob Mac gives chase.

#33 Chad Ragland Started in the seventh position now holds a podium position. At this pace, they could take the win....
12:00pm - Insider Info - Bj Baldwin jumps over to Riviera Racing frequency asking the #1 Mark Post to pull over at Race Mile 90. Riviera Racing pitted at RM 103 before the summit, splashing 55 gallons of VP race Fuel . It didn't look like BJ's transmittal was heard. Riviera Racing still rocks the second spot.

11:31am - #1 Mark Post/Rob MacCachren TWO RIGHT FLAT TIRES! Hopefully the ROCKSTAR Energy drinks have put some spring in their step and the Makita Impact wrench is charged for a quick roadside pit stop.
