Fairplex at Pomona - Sunday Race
April 25-26, 2008

Pomona, California April 27, 2008 Rob Mac is back! A new and different colored race suit. A different Energy Drink sponsor. A new truck. A new team, but everything else is exactly the same. It's the MAC Attack!

If the season opener of the 2008 CORR season wasn't enough to convince an off road racing fan that Rob Mac is back to his same old form as the 2007 season, then they definitely did not pay attention to the act of complete domination in the challenging CORR Pro 2 field this past weekend.

Held at the LA Fairplex-Pomona, which is located in within metropolitan Los Angeles, the second day of door-to-door racing was just as exciting as the first. Southern California was baked by an intense heat wave where scorching temeperatures reached over 100 degrees. The temporary race course was constructed in the asphalt parking lot within a stones throw of the world famous NHRA Dragstrip of Pomona. The site of the NHRA Winternationals, CORR's CEO, Jim Baldwin, continues to forge ahead with his dream here in 2008.

Despite the incredible hot temperatures, Menzie's Motorsports top driver, Rob MacCachren, qualified his ROCKSTAR Pro 2 in the pole position early Sunday morning. A few hours later he was burning donuts on the asphalt front stretch in front of thousands of fans who watched him dice up the race course like a Benihana chef.

His winning burnouts would rival any victory display by NASCAR's top drivers. Rob Mac waved the checkered victory flag and drove up and down the front stretch asphalt pumping his left hand holding the flag into the air. It was less than a year ago that Rob Mac began to work wtih Steve Menzies in the development of the most dominating Super Team so far this season. Led by MacCachren's vast experience in the off road racing world, Steve Menzies has constructed possibly one of the strongest overall teams the CORR Series has ever seen and Rob Mac is the core of this powerhouse team.

After winning Saturday and then qualifying in the pole position for Sunday's race, Rob drove his Dave Clark-built to the front barely challenged by Red Bull's Ricky Johnson who fell off the pace about the midway point of the race. Carl Renezeder, Jerry Whelchel and Todd LeDuc made valient charges but they didn't have enough for Rob Mac's domination. In fact, the followers tangled up fenders in more than a couple turns allowing Rob Mac to charge to the checkers.

There's seven more race weekends and you can bet the CORR season excitement has only just begun. Visit www.corracing.com for the full schedule and ticket information, as well as the upcoming television coverage.

Pomona, California April 27, 2008 Rick Huseman qualified the fastest in the Sunday morning qualifier railing his FABTECH Pro 4 around Pomona's dirt track. As soon as the race kicked off in the heat of the Southern California weather, Huseman, a Riverside, California native, went on the attack and got out in front for the entire race including holding off a charge after the midway competition yellow flag.

Rockstar's father-son duo, Curt and Kyle LeDuc, both racing in the elite Pro 4 class put on a fanstastic display of driving as they made fast runs towards the front, but not before they became tangled up with slower traffic. The younger LeDuc suffered a mechanical issue that put him out of the race.

Monster Energy's Johnny Greaves ran in second position for the majority of the race, but he suffered a mechanical issue as well only after bicycling twice saving it in front of the crowd.

Scott Douglas pushed his #7 Ford hard, but he came up short after Lucas Oil sponsored Carl Renezeder got around him so he could make a charge towards the leading Huseman. Once Renezeder got around the slower Douglas, Carl left Scott to fend off the charging competition for the third spot as he reeled in Rick Huseman. Carl had huge momentum over the top of the massive table top jump and caught Huseman as he approached the 180 banked turn 2. As they approached the pit, Renezeder set up Huseman for the pass that he made two turns later as he charged for the checkered flag.

Renezeder wins over Huseman...

Pomona, California April 26, 2008In memory of their fallen brother, Nye Frank, Rob MacCachren and Dave Clark came together here at the first race of the 2008 CORR season and dominated a massive field of CORR Pro 2's in front of a packed house at the LA Fairplex-Pomona.

Nye Frank, a longtime close friend to both Rob Mac and Dave Clark, along with many others, was killed in a fight with a 24-year old man who was allegedly, as reported by witnesses, on drugs and acting strange when Frank and him becamed involved in a fistfight that ultimately resulted in Nye Frank's death.

Pomona, California April 26, 2008Off road racing veteran, Marty Hart, never lifted in his run for the first blood of the season here Saturday beating out Rob Naughton after he pulled off the race course 3/4 way through the race. The start of the race was red flagged after five trucks tangled in the first turn after track worker's overwatered the first turn and the Pro Lite trucks slid sideways through the mud.

The second start saw a clean re-start and the leaders jumped out in front. Marty Hart started from the third row stayed close all race long and the door opened after a lapped vehicle got hooked up with Rodrigo Ampudia who was in the middle of an impressive charge towards the front. Ampudia was putting down fast lap times enroute to the front when he was sidelined.
