LAS VEGAS (July 29, 2008) - Menzies Motorsports of Las Vegas, quickly becoming known as the ‘Big Red Machine’, continues to lead the point standings in three of the four classes it competes in this year midway through the 16-race 2008 Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) short-course series.
Rob MacCachren, who leads the all-Las Vegas six-driver, seven-vehicle team with 67 career CORR class race wins, is at the top of the leaderboard in both the Pro-2 and the Pro Buggy divisions while teammate Bryan Freeman has been nearly untouchable in leading the Single Buggy class so far in 2008.
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (July 29, 2008) — Rick Huseman’s day at the office starts with the buckling of his fitted race helmet and then climbing inside his #3 FABTECH/ToyoTires/Toyota TRD/Monster Energy Pro 4 race truck. Once he’s settled into the Mastercraft race seat, he begins the process of belting himself inside the machine that he and his brothers engineered from straight chromoly tubing.
CHERRY VALLEY, Calif. (July 29, 2008) — Championship Off-Road Racing’s first visit of the season to The Quarry resulted in a rocky weekend for Rockstar Makita Team LeDuc.
Todd LeDuc, who finished fourth and third in the two Pro 2 races, thought things went pretty well. But dad Curt LeDuc, who watched mechanical problems on Sunday ruin a promising start for the team’s other entries, said CORR’s return to Chula Vista International Raceway was “a disaster.”
El Cajon, CA (July 29, 2008)— Scott Douglas and his #7 AMSOIL Kumho Tire Sycuan Casino Ford – F150 entered the race action in Chula Vista, trailing the CORR PRO-4 championship leader by nine points. Scott was looking forward to racing at his home track, just 20 minutes from his El Cajon home.
The consistency of Douglas Motorsports this year continued to pay dividends, as the team has finished on the podium in five of the six rounds of Championship Off-Road Racing; leading up to this weekend’s halfway point of the season.
Chula Vista, CA (July 29, 2008)—Team Red Bull/BOSCH fought it out for two forth place finishes at round 7 and 8 at Chula Vista International Raceway. Record numbers of fans swelled into the stands at the ultra spectator friendly Chula Vista International Raceway to watch the field of thirty eight CORR trucks battle it out for points and glory in person and live on Speed channel and NBC. With blue skies above and a perfectly prepped course featuring a huge table top jump directly in front of the stands and the famous down hill “Ski Jump”, the stage was set for a weekend of spectacular racing.

Chula Vista , CA (July 26, 2008)—Dirt flew wildly as Championship Off Road Racing made history in Chula Vista as the Pro 2, Pro Lite, and Pro 4 races were broadcast live on SPEED. In front of over 15,000 fans, Lucas Oil/Skyjacker’s Carl Renezeder won both the Pro 2 and Pro 4 races, putting him ahead of Monster Energy’s Johnny Greaves with a total of 62 career wins, versus Greaves 60 career wins.
CHULA VISTA, Calif.(July 26, 2008) —Jerry Whelchel started on the pole and led the entire race until the FINAL lap. Carl Renezeder started 3rd and made his way into 2nd after only a few laps. On the final lap he made contact with Jerry Whelchel and sent him flying into the burm. Whelchel saved it but Carl Renezeder made the pass and took the win. This will cap off Carl's 61st win in his CORR career.
CHULA VISTA, Calif.(July 26, 2008) —Rob MacCachren led the Pro Buggy race until the caution when he pulled off the track and into the pits due to a right rear flat. He was able to make his way back onto the lead lap and finished a respectable 10th place. Mike Porter passed Greg George in turn 5 for the win here at Chula Vista International Raceway.
